Tweet Sanchez has agreed to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles, coincidentally the team that released Michael Vick, Sanchez’s replacement with the Jets. Eagles head coach Chip Kelly spoke about Sanchez Wednesday at the NFL owner’s meetings in Orlando, referring to Sanchez as a “very, very good athlete.” “He’s started 60-plus (62 regular season) games in this league.” Kelly stated. “He’s got great experience. There’s a lot of positive qualities to him.” Sanchez missed the entire 2013 season with a shoulder injury sustained during the preseason that eventually required surgery. Geno Smith then started every game for the Jets, prompting New York to release Sanchez and sign Vick to a one-year deal reportedly worth $5 million. While erratic as a passer, Sanchez has a career 33-29 record as a starter. He brings a veteran presence to the Eagles to compete with Matt Barkley for back up duties behind starter Nick Foles. -ALR

Rex Ryan is keeping Mark Sanchez tattoo, although modifications could be made

Rex Ryan accepted the New York Jets head coaching job in January 2009 and three months later his fate was tied to the team's first-round draft pick, Mark Sanchez. When Vick’s a Jet…now the Eagles re-set…

I've got two images clashing in my head surrounding the signing of Mike Vick by the New York Jets — and the simultaneous release of Mark Sanchez by the Jets. One image is actually a song on the soundtrack from West Side Story : "When You're A Jet…" [The Jet Song]… The other is a Monopoly board. The dice are rolling. Vick is out of jail. Sanchez did not...
