PLAYERS: Mark Sanchez
TEAMS: New York Jets
It was a year ago today that the Buttfumble was gloriously created on a Thanksgiving evening game in MetLife Stadium. The perpetrator of the Buttfumble, Senor Nacho Sanchez, has been mostly quiet this season on account of being injured since the preseason. But that doesn’t mean he’s going to be denied from being an embarrassment in some fashion. To that end, he’s now rocking cornrows. Who knew anyone would ever miss the headband?[via]

New York Jets face must-win game in Baltimore

After defeating the New Orleans Saints 26-20 in Week Nine, the New York Jets headed into their bye week in sole possession of second place in the AFC East with a somewhat surprising 5-4 record, taking comfort in the fact that they were the proud owners of the sixth and final playoff spot in the conference. But after last Sunday’s disastrous trip to Buffalo that resulted in a 37...

Antonio Cromartie, Ed Reed wear 'Wanted' shirts referencing turnovers

The book is out on the Jets defense -- they are stout against the run, vulnerable through the air, and don't force a lot of turnovers. Rex Ryan's pride and joy ranks 22nd in pass defense (surrendering 250.8 yards) and has only registered seven takeaways, tied for fewest in the NFL. Opposing players know this. Opposing coaches know this. And the Jets know this, too. ...

Mark Sanchez has corn rows

It appears Mark Sanchez has finally had enough. The New York Jets quarterback has been on the sidelines nursing an injury all year long while he watches rookie Geno Smith do what he believes is his job. So on Friday, it appears Sanchez finally lost it. How else can you explain his decision to turn […]

Playing like a rookie

Florham Park, NJ – The Jets young players have been inconsistent, and the 5-5 record certainly indicates that. Dee Milliner, Stephen Hill, Geno Smith, even Brian Winters have been the focus of fan vitriol. Which brings up a very common saying, "he looked like a rookie.'Yes, these players have had some poor performances so far this season, but it's a complete overreaction...

Wade Phillips responds to criticism from Ed Reed

On Wednesday, Ed Reed blasted his former defensive coordinator, Wade Phillips, along with the Texans, as Reed was clearly bitter at the way things panned out in Houston. Now, Reed finds himself playing for the New York Jets, but that didn't stop him from bashing Phillips and his ex-club earlier this week, where among other things, he criticized the Texans coaching staff as well...

Antonio Cromartie, Ed Reed Wear ‘Wanted’ Shirts Indicating Jets Bounty System, Say No One Is Offering Actual Money (Photo)

Antonio Cromartie and Ed Reed are two of the best playmakers the NFL has seen over the past decade, and their already forming a tight bond as teammates with the Jets. They’re so close, in fact, that they even got matching T-shirts. Cromartie and Reed were sporting some matching brown T-shirts inside the Jets’ locker room on Thursday. The shirts very much resembled an old “Wanted”...

Jets rule Jeremy Kerley out for Week 12

New York Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley suffered a gruesome elbow injury back in Week 9, and there was hope from some that he would be able to suit up this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, but now it has been confirmed that Kerley will not be making his return in Week 12. On Saturday afternoon, the Jets announced that Kerley has been ruled out for the game.

Jets Can't Lay Eggs, Ravens Can

Florham Park - The Ravens and the Jets are two teams predicated on defense. They're Rex teams. It wouldn't be a shock to see a low-scoring affair Sunday, but while all the focus seems to be on the two defenses let's focus on the Jets offense for a second. The Raven's have one of the greatest front sevens in the league. They're stout against the run and are one...

Preview: Jets (5-5) @ Ravens (4-6)

I imagine the fans will be particularly wild when the defending Super Bowl champions take on the Jets Sunday in a game which is a must win for both teams. The Ravens and Jets are both competing for that final wild card slot, and the Ravens are only one game behind the Jets at 4-6. A win in this game will give either team an important tiebreaker at the end of the season. The Ravens...

New York Jets Wide Receivers Back Geno Smith After Tough Loss

PHOTO COURTESY: NEWSDAY/GETTY IMAGES After an embarrassing 37-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills, Rex Ryan created a quarterback controversy by stating that backup quarterback Matt Simms would get reps with the first team in practice this week. Joe Flacco knows Ed Reed 'has a high motivation'

BY NICK ST. DENISThere's no doubt Ed Reed is a Hall-of-Famer. The question today, however, is how much Hall-of-Fame play he still has in him.Last offseason, Reed was a roster casualty of a Baltimore Ravens team getting younger and cheaper after winning a Super Bowl, and he'll get a second shot at his former employer Sunday when the New York Jets travel a few hours south on...
