NFL Trade Rumors:
Rick Stroud of the Tampa Tribune expects to see the Buccaneers pursue Giants TE Martellus Bennett during free agency
The Buccaneers made due with Dallas Clark and Luke Stocker, but they could really use an impact player at the position.
Originally drafted by the Cowboys, Bennett signed a one-year deal with the Giants last season and took a big step towards living up to his potential in 2012. Bennett, still only 25, is a more than serviceable blocking tight end, but he really came on in the passing game this year as he tallied 55 catches for 626 yards with six touchdowns.
Bennett joins Tony Gonzalez, Dustin Keller, Jared Cook, Fred Davis and Anthony Fasano as the best available unrestricted free agent tight ends in this year’s market. We have Bennett listed as the No. 24 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

The Tampa Tribune wouldn’t be surprised if the Buccaneers ended up going after Giants’ tight end Martellus Bennett in free agency this offseason.
If the Bucs are able to re-sign defensive end Michael Bennett (who is Martellus’ brother) it would make signing with them very enticing for Martellus once he becomes a free agent on March 12th.
I think the Giants would like to keep...
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense led by Lavonte David, Mason Foster and Ronde Barber were horrific in 2012. Ranking 29th in the league in sacks and dead last in passing yards allowed, they were an embarrassment, or were they?
The Buccaneers finished number one against the run allowing only 1,320 yards on the ground and only 3.5 yards per carry. Opposing teams averaged only 82...
The New York Giants are making a concerted effort to get younger this season and continued with yet another player move on Thursday. This week, the Giants have released three veteran players. LB Michael Boley, RB Ahmad Bradshaw and DT Chris Canty all were let go this week. On Thursday, another veteran player learned his future with the team is over. DE Osi Umenyiora’s contract...
Just days after the New York Giants said goodbye to veteran stalwarts Ahmad Bradshaw and Chris Canty, the team welcomes back three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Shaun Rogers, who signed a one-year deal with the team to secure his return for the 2013 season.
Rogers flashed some of his old potential in training camp before his 2012 season was ended due to a blood clot, he spent the...
Jenny Vrentas of The Star-Ledger reports this evening that the New York Giants have brought back injury plagued DT Shaun Rogers for a reported one-year deal. Despite jettisoning several veteran players this past week, the Giants decided to offer Rogers an incentive laden one-year deal. Rogers was on the Giants injured reserve list for all of the 2012 season while dealing with a blood...
Let me start by saying I know every inductee in this year's HOF class absolutely deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. I wouldn't take it from any of them.I was simply very surprised when I saw that Michael Strahan was left out. I just knew from the day that he retired, he would be a first ballot Hall-of-Famer.That surprise resurfaced, recently, as I watched the Super Bowl...
The New York Giants announced that they released veteran linebacker Michael Boley on Tuesday.
During the 2012 season, there were times where Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano was careful to not say the word “concussion” when addressing players who appeared on injury reports with a head injury. But the Buccaneers are not the only ones who take that approach. In fact, teams categorize possible concussions as “illness”, “head injury”, or “neck injury.” Such...
I get into a bad mood every time I hear this guy's name. However, if you can not beat them, join them. Or pay them enough to join you. The Patriots obviously have struggled on defense to get pressure on the quarterback and keep good coverage on the opposing wide receivers, thus they make quarterbacks like Mark Sanchez look like superstars. Chandler Jones provided a small spark...
