We agree, it is time to step up.
Bengals fans have been saying it, the media has been saying it. Now Marvin Lewis said it:
“We’re looking for our quarterback and our middle linebacker to take hold of our football team and that’s important for us.”
Amen Marvin. Maualuga has been a disappointment this season. He seems to be slow and often out of position. In a contract year that is not what you expect from a guy and he is being outplayed by an undrafted rookie next to him.
As for Dalton…
“We’re looking for Andy to take the next step of being the leader of this football team.”
“Grab this football team by the back of its neck and let’s go, let’s move forward.”
100%. At times Dalton has shown no fire and no heart. Other times terrible decisions have put this team in a hole they couldn’t climb out of. The pick 6 has been in far too many games and Dalton can not allow that to happen. If receivers are in the wrong spot then he needs to get on them. don’t lock onto the first read and just play heads up football.
“We’ve wallowed around here in mediocrity.”
Below mediocrity right now in fact. Lets hope this fire gets the Bengals on the right track.
BEST OF MAXIM
Marvin Lewis hinted before the bye week that Dre Kirkpatrick could see the field after the bye week. I have no doubt he is physically able to play. A source who has talked with the DB confirmed that Dre is in fact healthy and questions himself why he has not been on the field. Knowing that and the fact that the Bengals are going to need as much help as possible facing one of the...
CINCINNATI (AP) -- Bengals coach Marvin Lewis has gone on the offensive, openly challenging quarterback Andy Dalton and middle linebacker Rey Maualuga to start leading their 3-4 team.
Lewis singled out the two of them during a conference call with writers in Denver and a session with Cincinnati-area media on Wednesday. He said they're both quiet guys who need to develop more...
and nothing….. as expected.
There were moments when you sat back and thought “What if the Bengals traded for Bowe and Williams?”
The Bengals will have an improved roster this Sunday. Their first round pick should be on the field and hopefully begins his domination in Stripes.
The Bengals are an exciting team to watch, but they have a long road ahead of them.
Denver at Cincinnati - The Boncos and Peyton Manning have things rolling now on both sides of the ball. Don't forget that the Broncos played great defense and special teams last season and they were able to run the ball. You add Peyton Manning to that mix and it's no surprise they...
This is the first season in a long time where big names are being floated as possible trades at the NFL trade deadline. Through various sources I have heard large name NFL players like Vick, Steven Jackson, Dwayne Bowe, Deangelo Williams, Tim Tebow and Takeo Spikes being floated as possible trades before the Thursday 4pm deadline. Lets imagine for a second the Bengals were the type...
Former Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader Sarah Jones, the same one who admittedly had sex with an underage student, has scored her own reality TV show, Radar is reporting.
To the shock of no one, it will be produced by the same production company that created Jersey Shore. Because we don’t have enough trashy reality TV? Because the Real Housewives of (insert city here) and...
CINCINNATI (AP) -- With a storm bearing down and his flight canceled, Bengals snapper Clark Harris had to improvise.
He got his wife and their 4-month-old child in a car and headed west, driving more than 12 hours through wind and heavy rain to get back to Cincinnati as the Bengals' bye weekend wrapped up. He pulled into town in the early morning hours Monday, wondering if his...

Any casual observer / fantasy football player knows the stars in the game on Sunday. For the Bengals there will be much talk of Dalton, Green, the law firm. For the Broncos people know Manning, Thomas, Decker and McGahee. However, the game will be decided by the less likely known players. Below, I highlight a couple from each team. If these players play to their potential they will...
Denver Broncos (4-3) at Cincinnati Bengals (3-4)
The Broncos rank 2nd in the league in yards per play differential at 1.4, just .1 behind San Francisco, who has looked untouchable for weeks in that category. No one else is above 0.7. They rank just 9th in rate of sustaining drives differential, thanks to a 3rd down defense that’s 20th. However, they were much better in this...
We got it out the way. Over…done… kaput! Now that the bye is over we look forward to the second half. As a rule of thumb, Cincinnati has been a first half football team. We get up and then find some way to let it get away from us. This has happened with some of our seasons as well. Last year we started 6-2 but then went 3-5 for the second part of the season. Now...
