Marvin White is back with the Bengals, who are in desperate need for help at safety.
White was with the team for a couple weeks in training camp after Gibril Wilson’s season ended with a knee injuy. However, he was among the final roster cuts. White was selected by the Bengals in 2007 and played here for two seasons. He was with Dallas and Detroit last year.
In three seasons, White has played in 40 games with 19 starts. He has 124 tackles, one interception, 14 passes defensed and 17 special teams tackles.
The Bengals though still have one more roster move to make after placing Tom Nelson on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list. Nelson, who suffered a knee injury in last year’s regular-season finale against the Jets, was on the PUP list to start the season but played in the last eight games with six tackles on defense and two on special teams.
This also means that Roy Williams is the only safety remaining who was on the roster at the start of training camp.
