About 24 hours after he publicly ripped an official for missing a blatant pass interference call and incurring a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty in the first quarter of Sunday's 30-7 victory over the Denver Broncos, wide receiver Derrick Mason acknowledged that his emotional display may have been a little too much. But Mason wouldn't go so far as to say that the outburst was unwarranted. "I think I’ve smiled a little bit too much on the field, and sometimes they take your kindness for weakness, and they’re never going to give you a penalty," he said. "It just came out, I guess, or maybe I was frustrated about some other thing, but it all came out. Once it happened, I forgot about it honestly. I even apologized to the referee for showing him up.
