The career of quarterback Matt Flynn can be summed up by the events that took place on New Years Day in 2012. With a 14-1 record, the Green Bay Packers entered the final game of the season comfortably set as NFC North Champs and had already clinched a first-round bye in the playoffs. They proceeded to rest several starters, including eventual NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. In stepped Flynn, making his first start of the season, coming into the game tallying only 5 pass attempts during the year. Flynn went on to throw for 480 yards, 6 touchdowns and 1 interception, leading the Packers to a 45-41 victory over the Detroit Lions. The aftermath of that game could not have been better for Flynn. Of course, everyone wondered how good could Flynn really be if he had 15 more opportunities to put up numbers like those he put up in Green Bay's season finale in 2011. It's not easy to put up 480 yards, coming in cold turkey off of the bench. This kid had to have something special in him, and t...

Raiders fan goes wild at airport

Good news, NFL: Your efforts to grow the game overseas are working. Just look at how English soccer hooligans have embraced being Raiders fans. One such fan got so rowdy on a flight to England, it would make The Black Hole proud. The 52-year-old man, sporting a black Raiders T-shirt, reportedly appeared drunk and began berating other passengers. But the real show began when the...

Oakland Raiders take on the Kansas City Chiefs

The Oakland Raiders (2-3) take on the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs (5-0) on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium in a game that is sure to heighten the already intense rivalry between the two teams. What are some issues the Raiders will have to face in this week’s matchup? The loss of running back Darren McFadden didn’t stop Oakland from beating the San Diego Chargers, but his return...

Tim Brown is amazed by Terrelle Pryor’s development

When the Raiders used a draft pick to draft Terrelle Pryor as a supplemental draft pock one of his biggest critics was Former Raider WR Tim Brown. Brown had some pretty controversial comments about the OSU product but now is impressed. Brown seems to be eating crow and admitting he was wrong about Pryor. I […]

Darren McFadden: play him or rest him?

Oakland Raiders running back tandem Darren McFadden and Rashad Jennings seem to be getting healthier as the week progresses and the team is hopeful to have both available for its matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, as reported by csnbayarea.com Jennings said he is sure he will be ready for Sunday’s contest – the team is not as certain about McFadden. “It’s really...

Raiders fan takes his clothes off, gets tasered at the airport

A Raiders fan decided to not board his plane in Manchester, England and instead walked onto the tarmac, threatened to beat up the pilot and then decided to take his clothes off. This is not just another crazy Raiders fan.  He was apparently drunk and even got into arguments with other passengers. When the plane landed, he got down to his underwear — black, duh — and trying to...

Moore takes step toward being Raiders' No. 1

It's a small sample size but the Raiders will take it. In his past three games Denarius Moore has 15 catches for 274 yards and two touchdowns - the best three-week stretch of his young career - and looks like the No. 1 receiver head coach Dennis Allen and offensive coordinator Greg Olson were imploring him to become during training camp. Moore in his third year has always flashed...

Burnett fitting in well on Raiders defense

Oakland's Kevin Burnett isn't sure yet what exactly the Raiders will try to do to slow down the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs this week. It might not matter what the plan is the way the Chiefs have played while winning their first five games. That's why even as he buried himself in the film room trying to find an edge, Burnett realized the Raiders will likely have to...

My Two Cents: Oakland Raiders; They Are Who We Thought They Were!

What up RaiderNation? Welcome to this week’s edition of My Two Cents, with your favorite old geezer Raider fan, Old Timer. Matt Flynn Makes More Than Luck, RG3, Wilson, And Tannehill Combined

Adam Schefter just blessed us with this little nugget of information, and we felt it only right to share. Unemployed former Raiders quarterback Matt Flynn won the lottery when he got a huge contract from the Seahawks after putting up Tom Brady like numbers in two fill in appearances for Aaron Rodgers. How lucky is Flynn.  The weak armed quarterback pocketed more than $14.5 million...

Pryor: Oakland’s Franchise QB?

With Week 6 starting, Terrelle Pryor has officially emerged as a threat at quarterback for the Oakland Raiders. He has improved exponentially each week and is quickly turning into one of the most electric players in the league this season. He has proven week in and week out that he is the quarterback of the future for the Raiders in this season, but just in case there are still...

Darren McFadden questionable for Sunday

Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle doesn’t get the feeling that Raiders running back Darren McFadden will play this week. Talking to Darren McFadden, i didn't get the overwhelming sense that he is going to play Sunday. Has he gone full burst? "Pretty close." — Vic Tafur (@VicTafur) October 11, 2013 McFadden has been officially listed as questionable on the...

Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs: Week 6 NFL Pick

Oakland Raiders (2-3) at Kansas City Chiefs (5-0) Before the season, the Raiders were expected to be an all-time bad team. That hasn’t happened, as they are 2-3 right now and credit Reggie McKenzie and Dennis Allen for building a passable team despite over 50 million in dead money on their cap. However, I think they’re a little overrated right now. They’re not a good football...

Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs: 3 Bold Predictions

On paper this one is not going to be fun for the silver and black. On the field it just might surprise everyone involved. Especially the Jolly Walrus and his crew. This is the epitome of what we call a trap game. One team is on a roll, stomping the guts out of everyone they play. One is a tweener, neither good or bad defines them, but it is clear the effort is there. The team on the...

Chiefs vs. Raiders: 5 Questions With the Enemy

The Chiefs and the Raiders have a rivalry that burns hot regardless of whether the games themselves have any real meaning. Which is a good thing, because in recent years both the Chiefs and the Raiders have been little more than laughingstocks in the eyes of the rest of the league. Both teams are starting to change that this year. The Chiefs are 5-0 and sport a defense that even the...

The Oakland Raiders' gameplan vs the KC Chiefs

The Raiders face a stiff challenge this week, going on the road against the 5-0 Kansas City Chiefs. The Raiders, coming off a solid win versus another divisional opponent in the San Diego Chargers, are looking to be the first team to beat the Chiefs this season. Doing so would bring the Raiders back up to .500 on the year. The Chiefs, although unbeaten, do not appear to be as...
