NorthWest Sports Beat:
Per the Seahawks.com
website today we've learned that Pete Carroll said in a post practice press conference that Matt Flynn will start at QB this week vs. the Denver Broncos in Week 2 NFLX action.
That was the word from coach Pete Carroll after todayâs practice, although incumbent starter Tarvaris Jackson worked as the No. 1 QB in practice and Carroll admitted he thought about going with rookie Russell Wilson as the starter this week.
âThis is what the plan was all along, if it worked out and it has,â Carroll said. âThe fact that both guys played well just keeps us in that mode that weâve got to see a little more and learn a little bit more â see if they can carry it over to a really good defense at Denver, and see how it goes.â
Most of us LOYAL Seahawks bloggers and fans believe in our hearts that Matt Flynn is the front-runner.
Pete Carroll said they have not discussed moving Tarvaris Jackson to another team, and no trade has been requested.
Russell Wilson will also figure into the Broncos gameplan.
Tarvaris Jackson got the 1st team reps today for the Seahawks to further screw up an already MUDDY situation.
BEST OF MAXIM
Even though Pete Carroll insists the competition is ongoing, it is clear Matt Flynn is the leading contender to be the Seattle Seahawks' starting quarterback when the season begins.
Flynn will get his second straight preseason start for the Seahawks on Saturday night when Seattle travels to Denver, with rookie Russell Wilson expected to play the second half in a similar format...
According to John Boyle of the Everett Herald, Matt Flynn will get the start for the Seattle Seahawks for the second straight week.
Pete Carroll said theyâll stick with the same plan this week: Flynn starting, Wilson 2nd half. #Seahawks

Flynn had a pretty solid game last week, but did throw one interception despite a productive...
Updates. With AP Photos. Pete Carroll continues to be very guarded about his grand plan concerning the three-way battle for the starting quarterback position.
Carroll has been reluctant throughout the first three weeks of training camp to divulge information regarding his quarterbacks. Whether it's which quarterback will take first-team reps on a given day or a timetable for...
Pete Carroll is known for giving maligned players a chance to earn their keep. But even after signing troubled superstars Braylon Edwards and Terrell Owens this offseason, the Seahawks head coach seems opposed to any such union with recently released wideout Chad Johnson. Johnson, a six-time Pro Bowler, has been released twice in the past three months, most recently after being arrested...
The 49ers look to be a team on the verge of greatness with hard-nosed Jim Harbaugh as head coach, and Pete Carroll seems to be slowly building a team that can threaten for the playoffs in Seattle. Both teams are built around tough opportunistic defenses with a strong running game. In St Louis , first year coach Jeff Fisher will also rely heavily on the ground game to keep Sam Bradford...
While Matt Flynn sits in front of him, the wait for Russell Wilson may not be long`
1.) Russell Wilson Quarterback, Seattle Seahawks
âHe is too short to be an NFL Quarterbackâ, âHe canât see over his Offensive Lineâ these are just some of the things Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson heard from NFL scouts heading into the 2012 NFL Draft. Wilson has all the...
Wow, check out that awesome alliteration in that title! Woo hoo, I'm pretty pumped about that. All right, now let's talk about some football. Eh, I know, not as exciting as talking about the alliteration in the title, but we have to get through it.
As the regular season gets closer and closer, everybody is making their Super Bowl picks and it's pretty much the same old...
Northwest Sports Update
I totally forgot to post this. I wrote it on Monday AM, it got lost in my notes.
A 5 dimes review of Seattleâs preseason opener against Tennessee should be positive about the Seahawksâ performance, but not too positive as there is a long way to go in Seattle, especially at quarterback.
Matt Flynn was 11-of-13 for 71 yards and a pick in a 27-17 win...
Tarvaris Jackson, who was Seattle's starting quarterback last season, will not play in the Seahawks' second preseason game on Saturday against Denver, but coach Pete Carroll told reporters on Tuesday that Jackson is still in the competition to be the Seahawks' regular-season starter. Carroll said Tuesday he will follow the same plan as in the first preseason game...
Early Wednesday morning it was reported by Pete Carroll that Seattle quarterback Tarvaris Jackson was unhappy with his status on the team.
Not that he is unhappy with the shuffling at quarterback, rather that the Seahawks are trying to shop him around. I heard about the news and shook it off.
Then a few hours later I saw a tweet from @bleedinggreennation with a link that took me...
