The Tennessee Titans announced today they have released veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck after not restructuring his contract. And the Bucs, who have been searching for a backup quarterback, are already linked to Hasselbeck. According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, Tampa Bay is already showing interest in the 14-year signal caller. Also, general manager Mark Dominik stated at the owners meetings they would look into him. Hasselbeck is not going to strike fear in any defense, but his game management and intelligence will be a good asset to the Buccaneers behind Josh Freeman. Conflicting reports have Hasselbeck already negotiating a deal with the Colts while anothert has him currently talking to the Bengals. We’ll see if the Bucs do in fact get a shot at him.
