Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that Matt Leinart will visit the Oakland Raiders and is likely to sign with them next week.
Leinart, who was cut by the Houston Texans, will likely backup Carson Palmer. Oakland needs a backup as Jason Campbell signed with the Bears and Kyle Boller was not retained. The Raiders still have Terrelle Pryor who may be used as a game changer to threaten teams with his ability to run and throw.
Leinart is like Palmer a pocket passer, but hasn't had much success in the NFL. His former college coach Pete Carroll who now coaches the Seattle Seahawks has not attempted to re-unite with the QB, which isn't a good sign.
