Matt Leinart just can’t catch a break. After sitting on the bench for two years, the former Heisman Trophy winner out of USC was finally starting a game in the NFL again. However, in the first half of the game between the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars, Matt Leinart hurt his shoulder and was ruled out.
Matt Leinart got the start due to Matt Schaub injury his foot and being placed on injured reserve. After Matt Leinart got injured, he was replaced by T.J Yates — a 24-year-old out of North Carolina who has never thrown an NFL pass.
While the extent of Matt Leinart’s shoulder injury isn’t yet known, it didn’t look good. There’s a real chance that he too could be out for the season. If that’s the case, the Texans will have to search around for a starting quarterback for a team that appears to be headed to the playoffs.
