While Leinart is what I would describe as a "capable" backup, he's certainly not Matt Schaub, and the Texans will likely rely even more heavily on Arian Foster for offensive production.
The news gives new life for the Tennessee Titans and even the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both of those teams are chasing the Texans, and they've both already lost once to the Texans this season. Here's how the AFC South stacks up right now:
The Texans are going into their bye week, and they'll play the Jaguars in week 12. They follow that game by playin...

Notes from Shane:
Just when the Texans finally begin to look like a team that can and would win their division, they get the awful news that Matt Schaub is likely to miss the rest of the season. I took that into account when ranking them. Still, they should continue to play good football despite the loss.

However, they're about to be tested by injury. Texans coach Gary Kubiak informed reporters on Monday that quarterback Matt Schaub has suffered a "significant" foot injury. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported...

What are some of the big questions heading into this week in the NFL?
1. Can Matt Leinart save the Texans’ season?
You almost have...
Matt Schaub threw for two long touchdowns, while Arian Foster, Ben Tate and Derrick Ward each ran for scores Sunday to help the AFC South-leading Houston Texans rout the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 37-9.
The elation of Sunday’s dominant win over the Bucs didn’t last very long, did it? All our hearts sank when we heard Monday’s news that Matt Schaub had suffered a “significant foot injury” that will in all likelihood turn out to be a season-ender.
My initial thought, of course, was that the season was all but over – but like usual, in the short-term I overreacted a bit...
The Texans are steam rolling towards their first AFC South title, and Sunday in Tampa they once again took care of business against a team that was looking for a statement win.
Matt Schaub had another solid game for the Texans, throwing for two touchdowns, Arian Foster, Ben Tate and Derrick Ward ran for scores Sunday as the AFC South-leaders forced four turnovers and sacked Josh...
