In a quarterback-driven world, neither one that started in this battle out-shined the other.Andy Dalton threw for a hapless -6 yards in the first half. (Yes – that is a negative sign, not the en dash that I overuse). Matt Schaub misfired the ball and Leon Hall read the quarterback’s eyes like a comic strip and returned the ball for six points in the 2nd quarter. Both defenses were relentless and limited each other’s offensive coordinators to settle for field goals all throughout. As unflattering as it was, there were a few things that stuck out:1. Arian Foster carries team to victoryIn the postseason, a running game could ultimately be the deciding factor of whether or not a team will continue their journey, or watch Lord of the Rings at home. 32 carries, 140 yards and a touchdown sounds like the Texans are headed in the right direction.2. Matt Schaub’s sharp accuracyAlthough he threw a costly interception (a touchdown), the first-time starter’s 76.3% (29/38) is respectable. Thanks f...

THE GOOD: Houston's OffenseThe Texans scored just one touchdown in Saturday's game, but scored on five different possessions. That tells us that Houston moved the ball consistently all day, and stuck to its game plan: giving the ball to #23. Arian Foster ran for 140 yards on 32 carries, and scored the only offensive touchdown in the game. He also added eight grabs for...
Do you see random sh$% while driving to work and think it needs to be seen by the masses? Does the guy who sits next to you at work look like a tool on a daily basis? HOUSTON (AP) -- Arian Foster ran for 140 yards and a touchdown, and the Houston Texans used a stifling defensive effort for a 19-13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday in an AFC wild-card playoff game.
The Texans will next play at New England on Jan. 13.
Foster became the first player in NFL history to have 100-yard games in each of his first three playoff games.
The Houston Texans essentially limped into the playoffs; however they can regain their early season swagger to return to the Magnolia City. They started the season 11-1, only to end the season 12-4 with injury scares and it seems like they took their foot off the throat of the AFC. There are several keys to [...]The post The Houston Texans Keys To Victory appeared first on Queen City Sports.
The NFL Wild Card Weekend kicks off with the Houston Texans (12-4) hosting the Cincinnati Bengals (10-6). For the second year in a row, the Texans and Bengals will meet as the No. 3 and No. 6 seeds. The Texans came out on top 31-10 last year at Reliant Stadium. The Bengals enter this weekend having won seven of their last eight, while the Texans struggled in the final weeks of the...
For the second straight year, the Bengals go on the road to Houston in pursuit of their first postseason victory since the 1990 season. Who did that last playoff win come against? The Houston Oilers! Peter King says WEIRD!
Having lost three of their last four and forfeiting their first-round bye in doing so, the Texans now must regroup to handle a more arduous path to New Orleans...
Couldn't stop Arian Foster. Couldn't make that one big play when it was right at their fingertips. And, in an ending so sickeningly familiar, the Bengals couldn't break one of the NFL's longest streaks of playoff futility.
Plenty of blame to go around for this one.
Andy Dalton overthrew an open A.J. Green in the end zone in the closing minutes, and the Houston Texans...

The Texans have been struggling as of late as their 1-3 record shows to end the season. In those four games, Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has one touchdown and three interceptions. That type of production in this playoff...
J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans knocked down a pass from the Bengals Andy Dalton and wasn’t going to let him forget about it. Following the bat-down, which Watt specializes in, Dalton was greeted with a Mutombo finger wag.
