Maurice Hurst Suggests Browns Will Open 2024 Season In Brazil
Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Newly re-signed defensive tackle Maurice Hurst may have spilled the beans on a tightly kept secret.

After agreeing to return to Cleveland in 2024, Hurst joined Cleveland Browns Daily to talk about his decision to return and what he is most looking forward to next year in Cleveland. Mixed in between compliments of his coaching staff and teammates, Hurst may have just spilled the beans on a Week One trip to Brazil.

When asked where the defensive line would take a trip all together, Hurst thought for a moment and said, "Well, I mean we are playing in Brazil this year. We could just do a little Rio trip!"

Hurst's statement has yet to be confirmed by any reliable source. Since the clip hit social media, it began taking the NFL world by storm. All signs point to Cleveland being the Eagles Week One matchup in São Paulo.

Since the NFL has taken the game to an international stage, Cleveland has participated just once in the London games way back in 2014 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Now, the Browns may be at the forefront of the NFL expanding into South America and playing the opening game in Brazil.

That's an advantage for the Browns if they do not have to go to Philadelphia to play the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. Also, being that it would be a Week One matchup, Cleveland gets to do their international game with fresh bodies and not in the middle of the daunting season.

If the rumors are true, spending Week One in Brazil doesn't sound all that bad.
