Profootballweekly is reporting that is appears likely that Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Maurice Stovall will be leaving the Buccaneers this next offseason as a free agent. Bye, bye. Thanks for your time, do you need a moving van? The five year experiment with the 6’5″ 220 pound Notre Dame grad should be considered over.
Maurice Stovall has been a terrific special teams player for the Buccaneers, in between all of his various injuries, and although he was named as a starting wide receiver heading into the 2010 season, he has only logged 2 catches for 24 yards. Stovall is another holdover from the past, he has failed to live up to his expectations after being drafted in the 3rd round in 2006.
Yes, he is a great special teams player, but so are 7th round and undrafted free agent rookies who are playing for their life in order to stay in the NFL which come at a much lower cost. It’s time at the end of the season to simply let Stovall walk, thanks for your time, but move alo...
