The Pittsburgh Steelers head into their season finale Sunday against the Cleveland Browns with only one player that has played every offensive snap this season. That player is left tackle Max Starks, who will be an unrestricted free agent after the season. Starks made it known on Wednesday that he thinks he still has plenty of football left in him but doesn't want to return to Pittsburgh next season to just be a backup. "I am not a backup yet,” Starks said, via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "I still have a couple more years in me before I can even consider that role. They drafted two young Read more [...]

Two Changes the Steelers Must Make in 2013

The personnel side of changes will take care of themselves as the off-season begins about 4pm on Sunday for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Decisions of who will be cut and who will be scouted in the draft are already underway but there are two specific changes I’m looking forward to the Steelers making on the coaching staff. The first thing that needs to be addressed is somewhat taking...

Steelers represented at the Pro Bowl with 2 players, none from the defense

For the 12th year in a row the Steelers will send multiple players to represent the team in the annual Pro Bowl game. Now, multiple normally implies more than 2, at least in my mind but considering how this season as gone there really weren’t many deserving on the team unfortunately so we’ll take what we can get right? This is the fewest number the team has sent since 2000 when...

Steelers Injury Report: Keenan Lewis, Curtis Brown & Mike Wallace Remain Sidelined Thursday

The Pittsburgh Steelers continued on with their practice preparations on Thursday as they ready for their season finale Sunday at Heinz Field against the Cleveland Browns. The Thursday injury report is out and it shows that tackle Mike Adams (ankle), cornerback Keenan Lewis (knee), cornerback Curtis Brown (ankle), wide receiver Mike Wallace (hip) and safety Troy Polamalu (not...

Steelers NT Casey Hampton Open To Playing Elsewhere Next Season

Steelers NT Casey Hampton has been a staple of Pittsburgh’s defense for the past 12 seasons, but the 35-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and there has been plenty of attention paid to the overall age of the team’s defense unit. Hampton appears to be more than aware of the situation that he’ll be faced with in March, but believes...

Roethlisberger blames self for Steelers collapse

Ben Roethlisberger's passing rating and passing yards per game are up from his career average, while his completion rate is the same it's been over his eight year NFL career.   But Roethlisberger says its how he's played which has put the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-8) out of the playoffs. "A lot of it just has to do with me not playing well enough down the stretch...

Ben Roethlisberger at a loss to explain drop in 4th quarter rallies this season

It was almost a staple in Pittsburgh. Being down in the fourth quarter pushed the Steelers offense into overdrive, with Big Ben manufacturing late rallies to win close games. This season, not so much, and QB Ben Roethlisberger can’t quite put his finger on it. He’s 2 for 7 in 8 games that were decided by 3 points. "In the past, I've prided myself and our team in...

LeBeau intends on returning to Steelers in 2013

Armed with a promise from his beloved defensive coordinator that he wouldn't retire without first informing his players, Ryan Clark threatened to avoid Dick LeBeau. ''I didn't want to hear it, so I've told him, `If you try to leave, well, you didn't see me and tell me, so you can't,''' said Clark, the Steelers' free safety. ''...

The Pittsburgh Steelers placed three players on injured reserve this week, including cornerback Ike Taylor, tight end Heath Miller and running back Baron Batch, reports Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk. The Steelers did just that, placing cornerback Ike Taylor on injured reserve, along with tight end Heath Miller and running back Baron Batch. Taylor has missed the last three...

Is Chief Award Casey's Parting Gift?

Heath Miller was voted team MVP and Mike Adams is the Steelers' Rookie of the Year, but the award that may signify a departure went to Casey Hampton, who won The Chief Award.

Steelers Offensive Line Breakdown – Cincinnati Bengals – Week 16

Below is the week 16 offensive line breakdown for the Pittsburgh Steelers loss to the Cincinnati Bengals this past Sunday. Not a great showing in this game from the group as a whole as they allowed four sacks and several pressures in the game. The run blocking also was not up to standard as they had trouble controlling the interior of the line. PLAYER #TOT + - TOT ...
