"When will you announce the succession plan for Bill O'Brien as offensive coordinator?" a reporter asked.
"It's Josh," Belichick said.
Of course, the announcement came as little surprise.
The Patriots brought back McDaniels shortly after O'Brien announced early last month that he was leaving at the end of the season to become the new head coach at Penn State.
A member of the New England coaching staff from 2001-2008, McDaniels served as the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach for the last three of those seasons, including New England's record-setting season in 2007.
