About a month ago former New England Patriots linebacker and current NFL analyst ripped into wide receiver Wes Welker for saying that he might miss mandatory team activities while holding out for a long-term contract.
McGinest said he did not like the wideout's "diva attitude" and the two exchanged a few barbs on Twitter.
Since then, Welker has signed his $9.515 million tender and has said he would, in fact, be attending optional team activities (OTAs).
McGinest spoke with The Boston Herald's Karen Guregian about the spat, which he says was resolved even before Welker signed the tender.
“I’m cool with Wes. I never had a problem with him in the beginning. I was just trying to give him the blueprint of how things go down (in Foxboro),” McGinest said. “If you’re franchised, and you have a chance to make $9.5 million, grab it.
