Rich Tandler of CSNWashington is reporting that Donovan McNabb, who hasn’t participated in any of the numerous Redskins player-organized workouts this offseason, apparently took the field with players from the Philadelphia Eagles today. McNabb, who Mike Shanahan traded second and fourth round picks for and subsequently benched for the final three games of last season, saw his production decline dramatically in 2010. Despite the fact that the Redskins gave McNabb a sizable contract extension (albeit backloaded and incentivized), the popular belief is that he will not be back in D.C. whenever the 2011 season takes place. The best case scenario would be to trade him to team like Minnesota or Tennessee who would love to have a veteran quarterback set the stage for their recently drafted pass throwers, but the more likely outcome, considering the size of his contract, will be his outright release.
