Former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Donovan McNabb is playing the role of Scrooge heading into the holiday weekend, stiffing former teammate, Vikings punter Chris Kluwe, on a $5,000 donation to Kick For A Cure, a charity that supports people with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
McNabb agreed to make the donation to the organization, which Kluwe is involved with, after the punter gave his No. 5 to the quarterback when Minnesota signed McNabb this offseason. McNabb was also required to buy Kluwe ice cream and mention his band - Tripping Icarus – in five press releases.
Kluwe tried to prompt McNabb to pay up this week after talking to the media. However, as of the weekend, no donation has been made.
“No, but I haven’t really had a chance to ask him. I was going to at the end of the season, but then he got released,” Kluwe said on Twitter.
McNabb was released by the Vikings on Dec. 1 after struggling to start the year and being replaced by rookie passer Christian Ponder.
