One of two free agents that the Buffalo Bills wined and dined on Tuesday has agreed to a four-year contract with another team. Robert Meachem, a wide receiver previously with the New Orleans Saints, has agreed to a four-year, $25.9 million deal with the San Diego Chargers, per ESPN's Bill Williamson. (Buffalo Rumblings) Mind of JoeI guess Meachem didn't like sharing a meal with Mario Williams. Does it sound like someone was just trying to up his offer from other teams? Maybe. I will say, 6-million a year is pretty much what I thought he'd get in the open market. Anyone who thinks the guy was going to get 4-5 million a year is living in 1997. Do you think it would be outrageous if the Bills upped their offer to say 6.5 million? I don't think so. I would love to know what the Bills were willing to offer Meachem. I'm not saying that all of this hoopla is just window dressing, but they better believe that they are going to have to overpay to sign some of these...

Meachem lands four year deal with Chargers

It’s funny how fast things change during the first few days of the free agency signing period, and this year’s installment has been no exception to that. A great example came late last night, as it was widely expected that the Bills would do almost anything possible to get a deal done with wide receiver Robert Meachem (Saints) and defensive end Mario Williams (Texans) to avoid...

Vincent Jackson signed a five-year $55 million deal with the Buccaneers and $26 million is guaranteed. I have to say, I don’t like either deal very much. Both players’ stats were...

San Diego Chargers Replace Vincent Jackson With Robert Meachem

Former San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson bolted to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday evening, signing a five-year deal worth $55,555,555 (say that five times fast), but general manager A.J. Smith and the team found a replacement early Wednesday morning. OK, maybe not a replacement, per say.  But a consistent deep threat and a reliable receiver, nonetheless.  San...

Williams, a former #1 overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft, is one of the most...
