Meeting Jeff Driskell, Cleveland's Fifth Quarterback in 2023
© Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns will join a historic group of teams on Sunday. When they run out quarterback Jeff Driskel to be the starter, they will become one of five teams in NFL history to have five different starting quarterbacks throughout their season.

We have lived the quarterback roller coaster each week this year and the buck stops with Driskel.

So who is our new quarterback?

The eighth-year man could be described as a football journeyman. His college career had two stops, the first was in Gainesville at the University of Florida and the second was at Louisiana Tech.

His NFL career began as a 2016 sixth-round selection of the San Francisco 49ers. Although he was selected by the 49ers, he didn't see his first action there.

He had to wait until 2018 to get his first start. Driskel got his first game play in 2018 for Cincinnati compiling a 1-4 record down south. Although they didn't win much, he didnt play all that poorly. He finished with a 59 percent completion percentage, 1,003 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions.

His first touchdown was against the Cleveland Browns.

From Cincinnati, Driskell would head north and join the Detroit Lions in 2019. Things did not go well in the motor city. He had three starts for the Lions and finished with a record of 0-3 marking the end of his time in Detroit.

His next stop was heading out West and joining the Denver Broncos in 2020. Things did not go great for Driskell in Denver. He had one start and two other appearances for the Broncos. He lost his one start.

His time in Denver came to an end forcing Driskell to head south and join the Houston Texans in 2021. His time in Houston spanned two seasons where he had just one start in which he lost.

Before coming to Cleveland this season, Driskell spent all year in Arizona as a member of the Cardinals.

Over his career, Driskell's holds a 1-9 record with his one victory coming back in 2018. He completes 59 percent of his passes, has 2,228 yards, 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

On Sunday, Driskell becomes the fifth quarterback to start for the Browns in 2023. If they can win, Cleveland will finish with a 12-5 record and each of their five starters will have at least one win.
