Fantasy Football Champs:
Steelers running back Isaac Redman (ankle) turned in a limited practice session Thursday while Rashard Mendenhall sat out again.Fantasy Spin:Redman had 105 yards receiving in his last game but he's only rushed for 127 yards on 50 carries (2.5 ypc) this season. Jonathan Dwyer ran for 122 on 17 carries against the Bengals in Week 7 so even if Mendenhall remains out Dwyer will likely play over Redman.

My eyes! During a press conference at Heinz Field way back in April, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced that the team would don throwback uniforms on two occasions this year to celebrate the organization’s 80th season. And on Sept. 7, the Steelers subsequently announced what games the team would be wearing the throwbacks: On Oct. 28 [...]

The Pittsburgh Steelers continued practice preparations on Thursday for their Sunday game at Heinz Field against the Washington Redskins and the practice injury report for the day is now out.
Safety Troy Polamalu (calf) and tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle) have long been ruled out for Sunday and did not work Thursday as expected. Running back Rashard Mendenhall (achilles) also failed...
Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) and Isaac Redman (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, according to beat writer Bob Labriola.Fantasy Spin:The picture should get clearer later in the week. Jonathan Dwyer rushed for a Steelers' season-high 122 yards in their absence last week. If all three are available it will be interesting to see which way coach Mike Tomlin chooses to go.
When Jonathan Dwyer decided to leave Georgia Tech a year early he was considered a top 30 prospect and was at one point ranked the third best running back in his draft class behind C.J. Spiller and Ryan Matthews. However, after the first four rounds plenty of running backs had been selected, but Dwy ContinueThe post Could Jonathan Dwyer be the Future in Pittsburgh? appeared first on SteelBlitz.
Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) will not play in Week 8.Fantasy Spin:Mendenhall sustained an Achilles injury in Week 6 against the Tennessee Titans, forcing him to leave the game and miss last week's contest against the Cincinnati Bengals. With backup Isaac Redman also slowed by an ankle injury, it appears Jonathan Dwyer will get a chance to start for a second...
Pittsburgh tailback Jonathan Dwyer, who ran for 122 yards last Sunday in a win over Cincinnati, should get his second consecutive start in Week 8.Fantasy Spin:Isaac Redman (ankle) and Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) shouldn't be expected to contribute much this weekend as they are still far from healthy. Redman is closer, but Dwyer should be the correct play.
Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review writes that Steelers RB Jonathan Dwyers performance for the rest of the season could ultimately decide whether or not they re-sign Rashard Mendenhall during the offseason.
Mendenhall, 25, will be an unrestricted free agent in the coming months and is still working his way back from a torn ACL that he suffered last season. Pittsburgh...
When it comes to things you can set your clock you by in sports, you can all but guarantee that NFL fans will jump on the bandwagon of a young player who performs well in a big game. It’s no different for Steelers fans as we continue to endure the changing of the guard at key positions for our team.
It’s not wrong to jump on the bandwagon so to speak, when a guy like Jonathan...

The Pittsburgh Steelers might be a 3-3 team through six weeks, but they know that they are
going to have to run the ball a whole heck of a lot better than they have been over the course of
the first six games of the season if they have a chance to make it to the playoffs this year. This
week’s foe is the Washington Redskins, who are 4 ½-point underdogs on the opening...
