Brandon Meriweather's groin injury has kept him out of the Washington Redskins' opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. The oft-injured safety is listed as inactive for Monday night's game. Meriweather played in only one game last year, when he sprained his left knee in preseason and then tore the ACL in his right knee in midseason. His knee had recovered enough for him to play in the final preseason game two weeks ago, but he hurt his groin in practice last week. The Redskins are counting on Meriweather to steady a secondary that ranked 30th against the pass in 2012 and is relying heavily on rookies Bacarri Rambo and David Amerson. Rambo and Reed Doughty are listed as the starting safeties for Monday's game. --- AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org

Redskins QB Robert Griffin III has got to stop playing to avoid injury. He could have won last night if he didn’t hold back.

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin II got what he wants, well almost. He got to start the first regular season game for Washington, but he didn’t get the win and it could be because he didn’t play the kind of game he is capable of playing. In the first half it looked like Griffin was holding back the style that makes him a winner. Of course all the dropped passed didn’t help...

Robert Griffin III not blaming knee for slow start

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was a man trying to get back into the groove of things Monday night in their week one loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. From early on, it was evident that it will take some time for a man coming off a devastating knee injury and missing all of the preseason to find his rhythm.

Washington Finds Silver Lining in Loss to Philly--Free Subway!!!

When your team loses that alone is typically considered a pretty good reason for businesses not to give anything away. Free stuff is usually given out in celebration; not defeat. That wasn't the case with the Washington Redskins Monday night. Apparently the folks at Subway were not expecting much from Robert Griffin III and the rest of the team since all they needed...

RGIII should have played during the preseason

The Washington Redskins' home opener on Monday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles was one of the most hyped openers in recent memory. While Chip Kelly's high-speed offense was a big deal, the primary storyline was the return of Robert Griffin III. We heard it all. We saw it all. Operation patience, the “blow it up” commercial, and the so-called riff between...

Eagles-Redskins MNF Live Blog, Second Half

RGIII came out telling Lisa Salters that he felt like Hitch, probably because Gatorade bought the rights to it somehow. Through the first quarter, it was all about the Eagles running all of the plays and Washington making all of the derps. Alfred Morris fumbled twice, once resulting in a yet another Week 1 safety. RGIII threw a Sex Cannon-like interception and has otherwise looked...

ESPN had a dedicated camera for RG3 in case he got injured

According to OCNN Report, ESPN had a dedicated camera for Robert Griffin III in case he got injured on Monday night. A note on the camera said the following. Camera dedicated to RG3. Stay with him if he is injured, frustrated or fatigued. If he throws a TD pass cut to the parents. ISO for RG3 on run out of the tunnel, first TD and first Big Hit. I’m sure major networks do this...

Eagles Vs. Redskins Injury Report

The injury report for Monday night's matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins is an uncharacteristically short one. Hughes was cut on Saturday. Offensive tackle Dennis Kelly...

NFLPA keeping eye on field conditions

Following the criticism of the playing surface at FedEx Field this past January, on the day Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III tore his ACL, the NFL vowed to take a more proactive approach in monitoring field conditions.

The fact that Brady targeted Thompkins so much bodes well, right? Obviously only 4/14 connected, but Kenbrell must be doing something right to get so many passes from a QB who is notorious for taking whatever defenses give him.

Well, he did target Joey Galloway 12 times in their 2009 Week 2 loss to the Jets as well (5 catches,...
