The Blue Mare:
It’s fourth down. Your team is down by five. There’s four seconds on the clock. And it’s 14 yards to the end zone. Who do you want as your quarterback? Tom Brady? Peyton Manning? Andrew Luck? How many Colts fans would have picked our rookie quarterback at the beginning of the season? And now…after Sunday?
Andrew Luck is quickly becoming that quarterback. That quarterback who doesn’t get rattled. That quarterback who can make the big play. That quarterback who can manage the clock and close out a game in the final seconds. And that quarterback who will find a way to win.
For a while on Sunday, it looked like the Colts were out of luck. The rookie quarterback had some rookie moments. He was under pressure, off his mark, and had three interceptions. But somehow, some way…Luck kept coming back. And when it came down to the last play, the last second, Luck made his own luck.
A comeback win on the road. And long after some fans had given up. But Andrew Luck is no quitter. And his fans shouldn’t be either.
These days Andrew Luck is piling up records faster than Peyton Manning is making pizzas. With the 35-33 win over the Detroit Lions, the Colts go to 8-4. And Luck becomes the first quarterback taken number one overall to win eight games in a season (surpassing Sam Bradford in 2010). He also holds the record for passing yards by a rookie and passing yards by a rookie in a game. And he still has four games to go!
When you have Luck…anything is possible. As I told someone last week, sometimes you just have to hang in there and believe. In football. And in life.
So…KEEP CALM AND BELIEVE IN LUCK.

BEST OF MAXIM
The struggles of the Bears, Packers, Giants, 49ers and Ravens in recent weeks allows the Indianapolis Colts to make a legitimate push into the top 10. I remain skeptical of Indy’s true chances when January roles around (the 59-24 drubbing in New England is an indicator of how far they are behind the truly top shelf teams in the league) and their -41 point differential leaves much...
DETROIT -- It was the type of finish that can make a player, and break a team.
Rookie Andrew Luck continued to spread his magic Sunday, rallying the surprising Indianapolis Colts to an improbable 35-33 victory over the snake-bitten Detroit Lions.
Luck threw two touchdown passes in the final 2:39, including a 14-yarder to receiver Donnie Avery on the final play.
Some teams find...
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots won the AFC East in Miami on Sunday
The stadium formally known as Joe Robbie stadium has always been the New England Patriots “little shop of horrors”. No matter how good the New England Patriots are, or how bad the Miami Dolphins are, it always plays out as a game that the Patriots will find some way to choke away down the stretch. Today...
We're down to the last quarter of the 2012 season, and there are some teams currently in the playoff picture that have surprised us all. With four games left, we're taking a look at the current wildcard teams. Are they contenders or just pretenders? Let's take a look.
The Colts are almost certainly in the playoff party. They hold a game lead...
The Denver Broncos claimed their second consecutive AFC West title Sunday with their 31-23 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Winning the AFC West is nice, but they want more.
The Broncos didn't even celebrate the accomplishment in the locker room after the game.
"No, just that we did acknowledge it because it was one of our goals," Broncos coach John Fox...
A lot has changed in this league over the last decade or so, but one thing remains the same: Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are constantly in contention in December. And while Manning is in a new home now, that's again the case this year. You could argue that despite some serious concerns Brady's Patriots and Manning's Broncos are in prime positions to meet in the playoffs...
Peyton Manning threw three touchdowns, including one to defensive tackle Mitch Unrein, to help the Denver Broncos wrap up the AFC West with a 31-23 victory Sunday over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Broncos (9-3) won their seventh straight and the Tampa Bay (6-6) loss clinched the NFC South for Atlanta, which won on Thursday.
Manning threw for 242 yards. He now has 29 touchdown...
In an odd scheduling quirk, the Miami Dolphins (5-6) and New England Patriots (8-3) waited until December before their first matchup of the season, which will take place Sunday at Sun Life Stadium in Miami. Tom Brady and the Patriots have been steamrolling all comers lately, while the Dolphins hope to keep their playoff hopes mathematically alive by upsetting the division leader...
NFL Week 14 previews and predictions for every game on the schedule:

Led by their resurgent superstar quarterback, the Denver Broncos have plenty to play for over the next four weeks even though they've already clinched the AFC West title.
The Oakland Raiders, meanwhile, are searching for any signs of progress amid their 10th straight season without a playoff appearance.
In the midst of their longest winning streak in 14 years, the visiting...
The New England Patriots came into today's game as heavy favorites against their division rival Miami Dolphins. The Patriots have made it a habit of putting a lot of points on the board in their 5 game winning streak, scoring a combines 219 points while giving up only 107. That fact alone spawned the prediction that we would see another blow-out in Miami. But the Dolphins had...
