MIAMI GARDENS — There were two Reggie Bush plays that stood out on Sunday.
Neither of them gained yards, but they were the most telling. In the third quarter, Bush took a handoff and raced down the sideline. He could have stepped out of bounds, but instead lowered his head and finished strong. The play was called back because of holding.
Later, Bush took a hard hit on a screen pass he dropped that nearly ended like this. Instead, Bush popped up and did a couple push-ups to show he was unfazed.
“It was one of those games that was physical and a lot of trash talking,” Bush said. “I just wanted to let them know their hits weren’t going to me affect me at all.”
That brings up a question. Is Bush physical enough to be an every-down back? That was the knock on him during his years in New Orleans and when he was signed by the Dolphins. Bush was labled as a third-down or change-of-pace back.
