Miami Dolphins Urged to Sign $15 Million WR with 59 Touchdowns
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins’ game plan seems simple; run the opponent off the field, and, could be looking to add even more explosiveness to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s arsenal in the latter stages of free agency.

Even after Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright, and his track-meet speed, and field-stretching receiver Malik Washington during the 2024 NFL Draft, the Dolphins could look to add an explosive, dynamic veteran presence to the receiving corps around Tagovailoa.

Miami Dolphins Named Best Fit for Odell Beckham Jr.

In the aftermath of the draft, Pro Football Focus’ Gordon McGuinness put together a list of the best fits for remaining free agents, and lists the Dolphins as a top destination for Odell Beckham Jr.

“Despite it not being a prolific season in terms of yardage,” McGuinness writes for PFF. “Beckham Jr.’s 2023 campaign with the Baltimore Ravens was still efficient. His 77.0 PFF receiving grade was the best among wide receivers in Baltimore, as was his 1.80 yards per route run. It’s unlikely that he will net the same type of deal he signed with the Ravens last year, but he could raise the floor of the Miami Dolphins‘ receiving corps.”

Beckham Jr. and the Dolphins have been linked throughout the offseason, and the veteran receiver could add quality snaps and targets as a third receiving option and potential upgrade over Braxton Berrios.

Last season, Beckham played out the 2023 season on a $15 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens, and will likely be forced to sign a deal somewhere in that neighborhood for the upcoming 2024 campaign.

Through his first 10 seasons, Beckham has caught 566 passes for 7,932 yards and 59 touchdowns. Another year removed from a torn ACL suffered in the Rams’ 2022 Super Bowl victory, Beckham could offer plenty of upside as an ideal fit in the Dolphins’ dynamic offense.
