Welcome to Week 6: Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets. You know what’s at stake. The Dolphins are seeking their first victory. The Jets are seeking the end of a three-game losing streak. And, oh yes: These two teams don’t like one another too much. Well, at least the two fan bases don’t. If the Dolphins win this one on Monday night, hope stays alive that maybe – just maybe – they can rebound from their 0-4 start. A loss and they sink further into the abyss. If the Jets win, they’re back in the hunt – at least somewhat – in the AFC East. Before we get to the things to watch, some quick historical tidbits: -This will be the Dolphins’ 78th game on Monday Night Football. No team has appeared on Monday Night Football more often. The Dallas Cowboys are second with 73 Monday night appearances. The Dolphins record in Monday night games: 40-37. -This will be 91st regular season meeting between these teams. The Jets lead the all-time series, 47-42-1. The teams have met once in the playoffs – ...

Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall Wants To Get Thrown Out Of Monday’s Game

The Miami Dolphins are 0-4. Clearly some sense of urgency needs to come from inside the team. That’s one way of looking at WR Brandon Marshall’s recent statements about Monday night’s game against the New York Jets. “my goal is to get thrown out midway through the second quarter,” and “I don’t know if it’s throwing a football 15 yards in the bleachers and getting...

Rex hopes Fins WR Marshall gets himself tossed

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan encourages Miami Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall to carry out the "Marshall Plan.""If he wants to get kicked out of the game in the second quarter, I think he should," Ryan said Friday.

Revis turns tables on Dolphins' Marshall

Miami's Brandon Marshall vowed to play with such passion against the Jets on Monday Night Football that it would get him thrown out of the game midway through the second quarter. But the Dolphins' wide receiver lost his head on a play in the first quarter, fighting so hard to get open on the goal line that he forgot to look for the football.

Jets CB Antonio Cromartie Calls Brandon Marshall A 'Front-Runner'

Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie yesterday took delight in tweaking Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall after Marshall on Thursday threatened to fight him in Monday night's game and get ejected. "I really don't care," Cromartie said. "I know what kind of guy he is. He's a front-runner. He had to give you all something to write about because there's...

Cromartie on Marshall: “All Talk”

Yesterday, Antonio Cromartie responded to comments made by Dolphins reciever Brandon Marshall that his goal was “to get thrown out midway through the second quarter” when the Jets and the Dolphins meet Monday night. According to The New York Post, he said: I mean, he had to give you something to write about. You all don’t have anything else to write about. I really don’t...

Brandon Marshall's Mistakes Help Dolphins 'Suck for Luck'

Maybe Brandon Marshall just wants to catch passes from Andrew Luck next season. That might be the best explanation for inexplicably heading out of bounds rather than, you know, running freely down the field for a touchdown early during Monday's loss to the Jets. That wasn't the Dolphins' only problem at the New Meadowlands, but with ineptitude comes hope. For Monday&...

Monday Night Live Chat, Week 6: Dolphins (+7½) @ Jets

The Dolphins are on national television tonight. There's nothing I can say that makes that an attractive option. I'm sorry. But a bad game doesn't necessarily mean a bad live chat. I'm going to enjoy this evening, I don't care what Mark Sanchez or Matt Moore do to me. And five more years of Gruden? We will also serve tonight as a support group for those dismayed...

TOJ Roundtable Week 6 – Jets/Dolphins Predictions

Joe Caporoso: 12 Pack Justin Fritze: I have nothing left to believe in at this point, the long awaited circus is upon us. The Dolphins will try their best but it will be their defense that does it. It gets a little out of hand as Sanchez literally crumbles into a ball after 6 man pass rush all day.  He throws 3 picks and the running game gets stopped at the line, leading to a few...

Miami Dolphins Pick 6: Keys to beating the Jets

If the Miami Dolphins can’t get up for this nationally televised game, if this 0-4 team can’t bring it to the hated New York Jets, a team that’s struggling, a week after the bye there is NO HOPE for this season. The stage, the rest, the rivalry, the stakes, the setting (on the road in a venue where Tony Sparano’s team is 3-0), the game’s conditions (great New York weather...
