According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, free agent DE Michael Bennett has “probably played his last game for the Bucs.”
Stroud adds that the Buccaneers don’t see Bennett as an $11 million defensive end, which is why they passed on franchising him earlier in the week. Instead, he expects Tampa Bay to move forward with Da’Quan Bowers as their starting defensive end next season.
Bennett, 27, is in a great position to land a very sizable contract on the open market. We have him listed as the No. 5 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
