Coming off last week’s incident when the Knicks Amar’e Stoudemire direct messaged a fan on the Twitter social network calling him a “***”, another similar situation has arisen involving former New York Giant great Michael Strahan. Athletes responding on Twitter via direct message in vulgar fashion is apparently a trend that is coming to light as more and more fans come forward. Check out Strahan’s response to a fan after she Tweeted him:
As you can see, the fan named Cindy Fay-Hamilton Tweeted Strahan about apologizing to Eli Manning, and Strahan then direct messaged her – you can see what it says. If this is a trend,it makes me wonder how many other athletes partake in the same actions responding to fans. There are some instances where I can understand an athlete reacting in such a manner, as there is no filter on Twitter. However, in this particular situation, I can’t see what made Strahan fly off the handle.
