I had a chance to watch both the FOX and SNY postgame shows after the Giants 20-17 victory that sent them to the Super Bowl. For as entertaining as it was watching Ann Mara calling out Terry Bradshaw on TV, the real story was the difference between how Michael Strahan conducted himself versus Tiki Barber and Shaun O’Hara on SNY
What I noticed was how Strahan didn’t make an effort to hide his rooting interests. Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Jimmy Johnson and Curt Menefee joked about it minutes after Lawrence Tynes’ field goal. John Mara actually named Strahan an honorary captain for the game, along with Mark Bavaro and Rich Seubert. I know the FOX pregame is full of hijinks, but I think Strahan loses a lot of credibility by accepting Mara’s offer and openly rooting for his former team.
