I’ve tried the past five years to keep my criticism of Michael Vick in check. People constantly get onto me for saying that the guy “made a mistake” and he “paid his debt to society” and that he earned his second chance and I should get on board with that.
As a retired breeder and owner of multiple Doberman Pinscher’s, I’m sorry but that was just something I could never forgive. Still, much like all celebrities and athletes, I understand that the need to separate their personal decisions and political views, which they can’t help but constantly tell us all about, from their performances on the screen, stage and field.
Still, it’s hard to like a guy who constantly will say things like how his experience in prison “humbled” him and he leads a different life now, yet he has no problem talking about how great he is. It’s for reasons like this that he is a more hated athlete by fans than LeBron James is.
