Michael Vick is not expected to start Sunday by anyone… but the Philadelphia Eagles have not confirmed anything. Vick remains at home resting following a concussion sustained in last weekends game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Nick Foles filled in at quarterback after Vick left the game. The rookie seeing his first game action was 22-for-32 for 219 yards and a touchdown. He also threw an interception and committed a costly fumble.
Earlier this week it was reported that Eagles head coach Andy Reid would notify owner Jeffrey Lurie of his plan to switch to Foles, perhaps hoping it may save his job. Lurie had said that the Eagles are expected to make the playoffs. The Eagles are 3-6 this season after losing five straight.
The 23-year-old Foles was drafted in the third round of April’s Draft out of Arizona.
BEST OF MAXIM
Michael Vick isn’t expected to play tackle football this weekend, as the Eagles turn to Nick Foles while Vick attempts to recover from a concussion.
It’s uncertain when — or even if — Vick will return this season. If he doesn’t, there’s a chance that he doesn’t even return to Philadelphia. He’s shown flashes of brilliance at times in Philly, but the overall body of...
Eagles quarterback Michael Vick will miss Sunday's game vs. the Washington Redskins due to the effects of a concussion.
Rookie Nick Foles, who replaced Vick during the 38-23 loss to Dallas on Sunday, and who practiced with the first team all week, will get his first NFL start in a battle of 3-6 teams fighting to save their seasons.
Philadelphia head trainer Rick Burkholder...
Respect to TerezOwens for publishing this picture of Nick Foles. Foles is set to start for the first time in his NFL career when the Philadelphia Eagles travel to D.C. to take on RG III and the Washington Redskins this weekend. Not a bad team to debut against seeing the ‘Skins couldn’t stop me on offense. Let’s just hope Foles doesn’t play like Dynamite.
Nick Foles practiced with the first team this week and stuck around for extra film work.
He's ready to make his first career NFL start for the Philadelphia Eagles.
All he needs now is to officially and publicly be named the starter. The Eagles again practiced another day without injured quarterback Michael Vick. The veteran has sat out since suffering a severe concussion in...
When Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick went down with a concussion this past Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys I’m sure there was a grouping of Redskins fans who let out a cheer. After all, in spite of his dismal play this season (serves him right for declaring the Eagles a dynasty before they had won anything) Vick is still one of those players who can take over a game...
Will Nick Foles be able to perform with the weight of the Eagles franchise on his back?
Michael Vick is still feeling the effects of a substantial concussion, and will not be ready for Sunday, and may not be ready to play for quite some time. That leaves the Philadelphia Eagles at 3-6 with their rookie QB Nick Foles set to take over the reins.
I’m sure Foles will try to say something...
Even though Eagles quarterback Michael Vick suffered a significant concussion this pas Sunday, head coach Andy Reid isn’t ready to rule him out of this week’s game.
Reid: Vick needs rest. Not ruling him out yet.

Right now signs continue to point to rookie Nick Foles getting the start on Sunday against the Redskins.
Michael Vick's headache pain has subsided as the result of a concussion and Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid isn't yet declaring the quarterback out of Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins. Vick did not attend Wednesday's practice, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. In his place, rookie Nick Foles worked with the first-team offense. Reid said Foles...

Last week, as the Philadelphia Eagles took on the Dallas Cowboys, quarterback Michael Vick was knocked out of the game after a hard hit gave him a severe concussion. After a few weeks of fans calling for a change, the team was forced...
Meetings between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins are usually highly anticipated and contentious.
The first matchup featuring Michael Vick starting opposite Robert Griffin III should be even greater, but it looks like that'll have to wait.
With Vick's status clouded due to a concussion, embattled Eagles coach Andy Reid is expected to turn to rookie Nick...
1. Danario Alexander is a Near Must-Own in 12-Team Leagues
His knees probably don't have long before they start to flare up again, but until they do, Alexander should be owned in most formats now that he's emerged in San Diego. He played more snaps than any other Charger receiver against Tampa Bay on Sunday and, given the ineptitude of the players around him, it's an...
Want to start out by apologizing for not writing a sleeper article the last 2 weeks. Conditions have prevented me from being able to do so, but now I’m back.
