Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Wilson wasn't a consensus No. 1 prospect. He wasn't a slam-dunk first or second-round pick by any means, but the Arizona Cardinals knew they liked the Stanford prospect after he fell to the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
With DeAndre Hopkins, Marquise Brown and Rondale Moore all ahead of him on the depth chart after arriving in late April, Wilson's immediate impact wasn't expected to be much.
Now, months later and four games into his rookie campaign, he's proven himself to be a legitimate receiver at the next level - one that fantasy football players should take note of.
PFF's Nathan Jahnke gave the following bullet points as to why Wilson - who is owned in just 1.4% of leagues, should be picked up:
Behind Romeo Doubs and Jameson Williams, The Athletic's Jake Ciely has Wilson as one of the top WR options heading into Week 5:
"Wilson was a preseason and weekly upside stash, so you should be familiar with the explanation. Quick version: top-two receiver in Arizona; offense isn’t awful; Wilson has NFL No. 2 receiver ability; can become more consistent than Marquise Brown."
Jennifer Piacenti: "Wilson was one of my favorite late-round rookie targets heading into the season, so naturally he had a massive game on all of my fantasy benches last Sunday. Ah, well! The receiver out of Stanford caught all seven of his targets for 76 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday. The previous week, he caught both of his targets for 86 yards, and he now has the second most yards per route run this year among rookies (2.30 yards per route run) behind only Puka Nacua. The best part? He plays for a team that will likely be in many negative game scripts and is available on 98% of waiver wires. Go get him."
"Wilson looked impressive in Week 4 at San Francisco with seven catches for 76 yards and two touchdowns on seven targets. This was after he had two catches for 86 yards on two targets in Week 3 against Dallas. He played more snaps than Rondale Moore against the Cowboys, and Wilson had just four fewer snaps than Moore against the 49ers. But Moore only had two targets and no catches, and it's clear Wilson is the better Fantasy option playing behind Marquise Brown," wrote Jamey Eisenberg.
"Zach Ertz also has a big role in the passing game, but I like the upside of Wilson as a stash candidate, especially with how well Josh Dobbs has played to start the season. Wilson is worth adding with 5-10 percent of your FAB."

Even Matthew Berry is on the hype train, too.
