Last week’s wildcard weekend saw no underdogs winning in what ended up being four lopsided games. Solid victories came at home for Baltimore, Green Bay, and Houston (yes, I know they only won by six points but they dominated time of possession and never really looked threatened by Cincinnati). Seattle completed the superfecta for the favorites with a road win at Washington. All four favorites not only won but also managed to cover the spread. This week will be different but not in any of the games on Saturday. In the Saturday afternoon game, the new Super Bowl favorites, Denver, should have no problem taking care of business at home against the Ravens. As 9.5-10 point underdogs, it would be a miracle if Joe Flacco manages to find a way to beat a Broncos defense that embarrassed him at home a few weeks ago. Unlike the Ravens’ last opponent, the Broncos should have all their coaches and should have no problem picking Flacco off when he closes his eyes and throws the ball up for grabs again.Likewise in San Francisco on Saturday night, the Packers will not get the luxury of facing a team whose starting quarterback was ruled out an hour or so before the game like last week. The 49ers will roll and easily cover the three-point spread—which is only so low because of the uncertainty of how Colin Kaepernick will react to a big game. However, you only need to look at his performance against the Patriots to find your answer. Last time these two teams met, the 49ers won handily on the road and will do so at home this time.Which brings us to Sunday and our first upset of the week:
