The 2012 NFL Season is reaching the midway point of the season and the NFL Playoffs are beginning to take shape. This is the time when we begin looking at the bigger picture of things in terms of wins and losses. Every week wins and losses are important but many seem to think wins and losses aren’t as important in the beginning of the season since teams can recover.Yet, looking at the playoff picture we could see a scenario where if it came down to it, the Seattle Seahawks could win the tiebreaker with the Green Bay Packers for the final NFC wild card spot based upon one call. That horrible call by the replacement officials in that Monday Night game could very well be the difference between making and missing the playoffs.… Read more

Pete Carroll is pumped with Russell Wilson’s progress

Asked about the progress of his rookie quarterback, Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll acknowledged that there have been some obstacles for Russell Wilson to overcome, but overall he’s pleased with the development the University of Wisconsin product has made through seven games. Carroll has been careful to keep a lid on Seattle’s offense while the team has compiled a 4-3 record...

Rookie report card: Week seven

In my weekly column, we will take a long look at two rookies.  I will compare their performance to date against my original expectations of them.  Let’s continue this series off by looking back at Seattle Seahawks running back Robert Turbin and Indianapolis Colts running back Vick Ballard after their week seven games: Robert Turbin, RB SEAHere is what I saw in college...

Seattle to be without WR Doug Baldwin vs. Detroit

Outside of some sore ribs and an ankle that was a little gimpy, injuries never became a major problem for Doug Baldwin during his breakout rookie season. It's why Baldwin was able to lead the Seattle Seahawks in receiving, becoming the first undrafted rookie to lead his team in pass catches in more than 50 years. This year, it's been a different health story for Baldwin...

Seattle DB trolls Calvin Johnson

Before they match up on Sunday, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman changed his Twitter name to let everyone know he's not intimidated by Megatron.

*My two cents* The Seahawks need to trade for Dwayne Bowe

Pull The Trigger! Headline: The solution is a QB change; the compromise is the Chiefs WR making Seattle’s offense better. The Seattle Seahawks need to do something for their defense, a defense that is the best in the NFL and could win a Super Bowl if given the opportunity. Since no one in management or on the coaching staff is willing to change their minds (a stubborn bunch),...

Q will pub Five Seahawks who put the Special in Special Teams

Always a Bright Spot On days when the Seattle Seahawks‘ defense can’t even hold on (granted they are on the field for the majority of the game) and the offense is… well, being the Seahawks offense, the Special Teams unit helps out both units. Be it by giving the opposing offense awful starting field position, or Leon Washington electrifying the game with a stunning return...

Seattle's Sherman ready for Detroit's 'Megatron'

Leave it to Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman to come up with a new way of talking about an opponent without saying a word. Sherman, who drew plenty of attention after Seattle's win over New England for his comments about Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, changed his name on his Twitter page Wednesday to ''Optimus Prime,'' a Transformers character. That wouldn...

Seahawks young defensive backs fire back at Jim Harbaugh for crying about rough play

The Seahawks responded to comments from 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh and his belief that Seattle’s defensive backs were overly physical with San Francisco’s wide receivers in the Thursday night game, to the point he intended on speaking with the league. You’re supposed to be happy after you win a football game, right? I’m not big for media anyway. That’s just who he is, I guess...

Pete Carroll Fires Back at Jim Harbaugh Over Hypocritical Statements About NFL Officiating

The Pete Carroll-Jim Harbaugh rivalry has thankfully continued into the NFL. Carroll had criticism over Harbaugh's recent complaints that the Seahawks' defensive backs were getting away with too-physical play down the field, implying that it contradicted Harbaugh's accusation that Giants' offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride was trying to influence...

A Tale of Two Halves

Last Thursday’s road game against the 49ers was supremely frustrating to watch.  The Seahawks looked awful, and that’s led to a lot of fans voicing opinions of the “fire coach X and/or bench player Y” variety.  That’s understandable, but I think it’s premature to be calling for changes that drastic.  Right now, the Seahawks are 3-0 at home and 1-3 on the road, with...

Seahawks QB roots for Tigers

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will try to beat the Detroit Lions Sunday at Ford Field. In the meantime, hell be cheering for the Tigers in the World Series. Wilson described himself as family friends with Tigers ace Justin Verlander while growing up in Richmond, Va. Wilson, 23, was an infielder and played two seasons in the minor leagues with...

Moments in time…The Seattle Seahawks week that was

Ouch, a heart breaker in SF Another road game, and another lack of a passing game, or scratch that, another lack of a receiving game is more like it. The Seahawks have had this issue for the balance of this century, yes, even in the Super Bowl year. It’s nothing new to write about, or to get peeved about, or to even care about really. This is just one of those things that is...

NFL Films Presents: Tecmo Bowl

Check out NFL Films Presents: Tecmo Bowl” which premiered yesterday morning on ESPN2 and will air again Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. EST …but you can watch it right here, right now.
