Affiliate Article: Given a second and chance and chosen as a value pick by Michael Lombardi, I’m Intrigued to see how quickly Mike Adams turns his life around to fully focus and contribute to a renowned establishment like the Steelers. With this said, despite all the hype over first-round NFL draft selections, whether they succeed or fail is hardly headline news. In the long-run we all know it’s the middle-tier guys who show up and prove to be perennial Pro-Bowlers and the foundation of championship teams.
So while the headlines focus on Luck and RGIII, DIRECTV and NFL Draft guru Michael Lombardi are going much deeper, unveiling the definitive and official 2012 NFL DRAFT “ALL VALUE TEAM.” Will these players, selected by Lombardi, become the next Shannon Sharpe, Jared Allen or Marques Colston? Lombardi felt the following late picks in the draft held the most potential for immediate and long-term value to the teams that selected them:
• Jeff Allen – OT/OG,

The first OTA session of the 2012 season gets underway next week for the Pittsburgh Steelers and there will be several things to look for as a result. Below are five initial things that I will be looking for as the reports from the organized sessions start to surface.
Tackles - Willie Colon has been moved to left guard now and although both David DeCastro and Mike Adams will reportedly...
The Pittsburgh Steelers completed day one of their first OTA session of the 2012 season and there are quite a few things to report. Below is a recap of the first day of organized team activities.
Players not working Tuesday were Mike Wallace (holdout), Ramon Foster (hamstring), Jason Worilds (undisclosed), Brett Keisel (undisclosed), Ike Taylor (late arrival), Rashard Mendenhall...
A sight that has been way too familiar in Pittsburgh.
For as good as the Pittsburgh Steelers have been over the past 20 years, it’s difficult to recall a time when they had a good offensive line. The teams of the mid-1990′s had several good pieces in C Dirt Dawson and T’s John Jackson and Leon Searcy, but it is not a stretch to argue that the Steelers have had among...
If you have been missing the brutal honesty of former Steelers linebacker Greg Lloyd, you got a gift this weekend as he spoke out against NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and his efforts to improve player safety while at a golf tournament in Cincinnati.
Lloyd said in an interview with WXIX-TV in Cincinnati via NFL.com, "This is not PBS, it's not the public channel that you...
Former West Virginia head coach Bill Stewart has passed away at the age of 59 today after apparently suffering a heart attack on a golf course. Stewart was the man responsible for giving Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin his first college coaching job in 1995 at Virginia Military Institute. Stewart ultimately resigned the head coaching job at VMI in 1996 after making a racially...
My look at the Browns last week raised a cacophony of howling and hissing from Browns fans. Today I am really going to poke the beehive by taking a look at the Steelers, because they aren’t going to like what I have to say at all. But if they are honest with themselves, they know I have a good point.
If you have not heard by now, the Pittsburgh Steelers first and second round draft picks, guard David DeCastro and tackle Mike Adams, will not be able to take part in the teams' first OTA session that takes place this upcoming week because the semesters have not ended at their respective schools. Both Ohio State and Stanford use the quarter system instead of the semester system...

The Pittsburgh Steelers have very few needs at this point in the off-season. The draft addressed the most pivotal of those with new offensive linemen, another body to play nose tackle and an additional running back.
Just because the primary needs have been filled, that does not mean that the Steelers roster is in perfect shape now. The best front offices in the league...
Season 2, Episode 110 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I are excited that day one of the OTA sessions for the Pittsburgh Steelers is finally here. We talk first about the rule that is prohibiting first, second and fourth round draft picks, David DeCastro, Mike Adams and Alameda Ta'amu from attending.
We talk again about the absence of Mike Wallace and how Troy...
According to an article in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, by Harrisburg Bureau Chief Laura Olson, the former Steelers receiver was in Harrisburg, PA today to be honored by Govenor Tom Corbett.
Below are a few excerpts from Wards’ day in Harrisburg:
Mr. Ward received a proclamation from the governor, and both chambers of the General Assembly have introduced resolutions honoring his...
-B- Bovoda (formerly Bodog) has the Steelers at 20-1 odds of winning the 2013 Super Bowl. Eleven teams are ahead of the Steelers, so I don't think Vegas likes the Steelers shuffling of the offensive line or aging defense very much.
The Packers, Patriots and 49ers are the current favorites, according to the sites on sportsbook review.
-B- Hines Ward was honored in Harrisburg...
A player who normally does not attend OTAs was out on the field today for the Steelers. Safety Troy Polamlu who never attends these practices and works out with his own trainer in California was present today. Troy plans on being at all OTAs and minicamps this season.
”It’s my time to be around the team a little more.”
Troy knows what he is doing. He knows this team...
James Harrison was a shell of his formerly fearsome self last year, but the 34-year-old told SCI.net publisher Jim Wexell that he's feeling much better this spring.
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is in attendance for this week’s OTA’s, which is kind of surprise since he typically works out in Los Angeles with a trainer.
Maybe Polamalu realizes that working out with his teammates is better for the Steelers as a team.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will open their first OTA on Tuesday and the team will get a first look at new offensive coordinator Todd Haley and his offense on the field. For some, it will also be the first time that they can start catching the staff’s eye and possibly earning a coveted roster spot.
Unfortunately, the opening day roster is only made up of 53 players. Some will not...
