WASHINGTON - JUNE 26: During a congressional hearing on the National Football League's system for compensating retired players, Hall of Fame tight end and head coach Mike Ditka listens to testimony June 26, 2007 in Washington, DC. Former players and coaches including Ditka, Harry Carson, and Curt Marsh were scheduled to testify during the hearing before a subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee. It’s a well-known fact that bears hibernate in the winter, so it shouldn’t be all that surprising that Mike Ditka took a little snooze on Sunday morning. Unfortunately for Ditka, however, he happened to doze off while on national television. During ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown, the legendary coach appeared to fall asleep at the desk when the show cut to a segment in Miami. Once Josina Anderson threw it back to Chris Berman in the studio, Keyshawn Johnson had to rouse the sleeping Ditka with a nudge on the arm. Ditka snapped to attention and the show rolled on with no more cat naps, but hey, it’s Week 17, these things happen late in the season. Check out the slumbering Ditka in the GIF below, with a fist bump to SB Nation.  Filed under: Anna Fogel, Headlines, NFL
