Redskins Insider:
Veteran wide receiver Mike Furrey, sidelined after suffering a concussion early in training camp, has been placed on the season-ending injured-reserve list, a person familiar with the situation said Thursday. Furrey, 33, did not return to training camp, which ended Thursday, after the injury Aug. 2. Coach Mike Shanahan said recently that the Redskins had not determined how to handle Furrey's situation on the roster, "but I'm sure when we do, we'll let you know something." The Redskins did not immediately have a comment about the roster move. The Redskins signed Furrey in the offseason in an effort to bolster a receiving corps that includes many unproven players. With the Cleveland Browns last season, Furrey had 23 receptions for 170 yards. For the Detroit Lions in 2006, Furrey had 98 catches for 1,086 yards and six touchdowns.
