Despite earning its first win over the season, the Browns have made a change in the organization’s hierarchy.ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday that Mike Holmgren will retire at season’s end and is no longer the team’s president. Owner Jimmy Haslam has named Joe Banner the new CEO, “effective immediately.”Haslam will announce the move later today.Though the timing is surprising, the move itself is not too surprising. When Haslam bought the club this past offseason, he brought Banner — a longtime friend — along with him, setting the former Eagles chairman up to one day succeed a flailing Holmgren. That day has come.

  • Smart move. Next should be Shurmur.
  • If Jimmy Haslam can't make the Browns a winner nobody can. He will do, or exceed, what Dick Jacobs did for the Indians. But Haslam will make it last longer and build a solid base. Winning has been a Haslam trademark.

New owners often bring big changes to an organization in the NFL, and that's not a good thing for Browns head coach Pat Shurmur. At just 1-5, the Browns have shown little promise despite adding...

Browns Fan Dips Head in Bucket of Urine for $450

Browns fans never cease to amaze, or embarrass me... this is no exception. This video shows a Cleveland Browns fan who apparently REALLY wanted $450.... Or maybe he was just super pumped up about the Browns first win of the season and first after an 11 game losing streak.

Trent Richardson is practicing today

According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, running back Trent Richardson is practicing today even though he’s dealing with a rib cartilage injury. This is certainly a good sign for the Browns.  I’d have to imagine at this point that he’ll be good to go for Sunday.

Paul Ryan visits Browns practice

The Jimmy Haslam era has officially begun. With it, there's a lot of conversations occurring about the future of head coach Pat Shurmur, especially with the impending hire of a general manager to lead the team. Despite the probable demolition and subsequent rebuild that is likely to occur in the near future, the team, or more specifically Haslam, was able to attract a pair...

Browns' Jimmy Haslem wastes no time giving Holmgren the boot

Apparently there are repercussions for utter failure and disgraceful performance. And I guess new Browns owner has seen enough by looking over the Browns' roster and their play over the last 2-1/2 years, becuase Jimmy Haslem's first act as new owner today seems to be giving Browns team president the boot. Holmgren's strength certainly seems to be in coaching, not ...
