PULLMAN – The Washington State Cougars announced their 2012 football recruiting class in alphabetical order Wednesday, but that’s not the only reason Jeremiah Allison belonged at the top of the list. Allison, a speedy linebacker out of Dorsey High School in Los Angeles, has been a straight-A student throughout his high school career. In fact, Allison’s grade-point average is 4.31.

PULLMAN – Washington State football coach Mike Leach gushed with pride over the rush-job recruiting work of his staff, but Leach was not too proud to admit that Pierson Villarrubia practically fell into their laps.
According to Tom James of the Terre Haute Tribune-Star, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald will be having dinner with Colts quarterback Peyton Manning this week in Indianapolis.
This could be a move by Fitzgerald to attempt to lure Manning to the Cardinals if and when he becomes a free agent, since all signs are pointing to him being released at this point.
BARRING A SERIES of Michael Bumpus-esque surprises, Mike Leach’s first recruiting class at Washington State isn’t likely to draw much national attention tomorrow when letters of intent are signed. Scout.com currently ranks WSU’s expected class of 2012 athletes at No. 59 nationally, just behind Georgia Tech and ahead of Toledo, and No. 12 in the Pac-12.
