Throw The Flag:
Via AwfulAnnouncing.comIt seems Mike Leach, the current coach at Washington State University and the author of Swing Your Sword, may have heard of the #RememberTheFive meme that Everyday Should Be Saturday‘s comment section created for Craig James. The meme originated when someone edited Craig James Wikipedia page to say “Craig James killed 5 hookers while at SMU” and it took off like wildfire. It took off so much that Craig James himself wrote about how he had been “google bombed” with it.This all stems from when Mike Leach coached at Texas Tech University and Craig James’ son. Adam James and Craig James claimed Mike Leach locked Adam in an electrical closet and used his influence at ESPN to get Mike Leach fired.H/T @Mengus22 and @NickGustafson

Mike Leach talks to fans on Reddit

On Monday afternoon Washington State head coach Mike Leach took to the Internet to field questions from college football fans in a unique forum, Reddit. Leach was essentially unfiltered, although he was not able to comment on anything that would have been in violation of NCAA rules. But that left the door wide open for some...
There’s a (likely false but nonetheless hilarious) Internet meme out there perpetuated by college football trolls that alleges former ESPN tool bag and soon-to-be failed Senate candidate Craig James killed five hookers during his playing days at SMU. Evidently, James’ arch enemy Mike Leach is in on the joke, too.
As you see in the above photo, Leach signed a copy of his book...
It was never whether or not Washington State head football coach Mike Leach knew about the rather nasty meme that his supporters started against his eternal foe, ex-ESPN analyst/current candidate for U.S. Senate Craig James. (You know, the one about James allegedly killing five hookers while he was SMU?) It was whether or not Leach would ever admit to knowing about it. Well...

AFTER A MONTH OF spring workouts, Mike Leach is trimming his roster. With WSU needing to get to the NCAA-mandated 105-player limit by the start of fall camp, several have been cut and some are planning to leave. In all, WSU will trim around 20 in order to accommodate the incoming recruiting class, according to well-placed sources at WSU. Of the known departures, one is a scholarship athlete.
Regardless of how you feel about new Washington State coach Mike Leach, it’s hard not to argue that the man is one of a kind. From his “Air Raid” offense, to affinity with pirates and everything in between, there is no one in college football (or anywhere for that matter) quite like him. After all, this is a man that Urban Meyer recently referred to as a “certified nut job”…...
“To Nick, CJK5H, Mike Leach.” If you’re unfamiliar with Internet memes, you likely have no idea what this means. Certainly you know Mike Leach (the finest captain in all the land), you have no clue what the hell that code is in the center, and who the hell is Nick? Well, Nick is just a [...]
MIKE LEACH may have added another chapter to his legend. The Cougar head man is in Nebraska this week promoting his book, and Deadspin.com just came out with a story and photo suggesting that he has sharpened his sword -- and autographing pen -- in a way that is both hilarious and subtly not so subtle.
FOR THE OFTEN outspoken and always entertaining Jim Walden, the No. 1 order of business Wednesday in his first radio interview since a series of them in December that landed him in hot water at Ol’ Wazzu was to make sure the faithful know where he stands on Mike Leach. Walden’s spirited defense of Paul Wulff last fall doesn’t color his view of Leach. He supports the new coach 100 percent.
THE RECRUITING TRAIL took Washington State coaches to Westlake Village, Calif. today, where a pair of student-athletes hold offers from Mike Leach. One is a 4-star rated outside linebacker who says he's been talking with the Cougar coaches for quite some time.
So normally we aren't huge around here on gossip, rumors, etc. We generally don't break any news, and if you are a regular around here you know of what I write. That said, there were some interesting "Gossip Girl" style stuff we heard at the spring game, so, thought we might want to pass it along. NOTE - this stuff is GOSSIP, which is often times unreliable...
