Bears quarterback Jay Cutler often gets ripped by media and fans for publicly chastising his teammates, like he did to tackle J’Marcus Webb after Webb struggled in pass protection during Thursday’s game against the Packers.

But there was Aaron Rodgers in the same game with a public display of frustration and perhaps criticism for a teammate when he and receiver James Jones got crossed up, leading Rodgers to throw an interception.

Rodgers explained it by saying he was not on the same page with Jones.

“I was expecting him to come out flat,” Rodgers said after the game. “He started out flat and then kind of took it up. That’s about as frustrating as it gets right there.”

McCarthy said he regretted the route selection when he called the play.

Though the play went badly, he didn’t think the exchange between Rodgers and Jones was mean-spirited.

“There’s a line between playing with a lot of emotion and being disrespectful, and sometimes it looks the same,” McCarthy said. “I think that’s the reality of that particular situation. He’s not trying to disrespect James Jones by no means. He’s competing. He’s extremely competitive, and they talked about it immediately on the sidelines. I think that’s the case.”

Jay Cutler curses out his offensive lineman

Photo by Squared B According to joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was seen cursing out one of his offensive linemen during last night’s horrible loss to the Packers. The Bears quarterback was caught by cameras dressing down Webb on the sidelines of Thursday night’s game and even chest-bumping the left tackle after telling him “get your f—...

Week 2, Jay Cutler leads NFL MostWantedZombie

Jay Cutler, Jay Cutler, Jay Cutler. Return this man to the living, please. No one should become so dispossessed, as he was against the Packers. Hey, I feel for the guy. I’ve had lousy performances before. For example, I’ve thrown 2 interceptions as a replacement QB starting the second half of a game on con-sec-u-tive possessions. Not that I want to mention that now, but it...

Bears player takes swipe at Jay Cutler's behavior

Jay Cutler took a beating against the Packers on Thursday night. He was sacked a whopping seven times and hurried on almost all of his throws, which lead to a four-interception performance in the loss. The Bears offensive line clearly has issues that need to be worked out. Tackle J’Marcus Webb played particularly poorly, and Cutler showed him up on the field by getting in his face...

Packers Use Fake Field Goal to Score Pivotal Touchdown in Win Over Bears (Video)

In a game that featured Aaron Rodgers and Jay Cutler at quarterback, it was Tim Masthay who threw the first touchdown pass in Thursday night's Packers-Bears game. It was by technicality, of course, as it was Masthay who "connected" with Tom Crabtree for a 27-yard touchdown "pass" near the end of the first half. The Packers used the old fake field goal on fourth...

Jay Cutler Mocked in Beat Down Loss to Packers

Jay Cutler took an absolute beating during yesterday’s 23-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers being sacked 7 times only throwing for 126 yards on 11 of 27 attempts with 4 picks which resulted in a putrid 28.2 QB rating. This comes after he spent some time trash talking the Packers defense earlier this week saying that his offense would be “UNSTOPPABLE” against them. Must of this...

Can confident Cutler win in Lambeau?

Week 2 Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers The Bears and Packers have a storied rivalry and it is heating back up with two playoff-caliber teams facing off tonight.  Jay Cutler sort of dissed the Packers defense by saying this:  "We've got some dudes that, if you're going to get up in their face, even our speed guys are going to get around them, and our big...

Bears leave Lambeau frustrated

Jay Cutler wasn't happy, and he made sure everybody around him knew about it. As frustration mounted, Cutler vented with emphatic gestures throughout the game, saying afterward it was simply a sign of his desire to win....

Jay Cutler Gravely Struggles At Green Bay

Bears QB Jay Cutler had an abysmal night Thursday against Green Bay, throwing for 126 yards and four picks.Fantasy Spin:Only some of the blame can be placed on Cutler, since his offensive line was atrocious, allowing seven sacks. Green Bay hurried Cutler on nearly every drop back and he was only able to hit Brandon Marshall two times for 24 yards.

Bears vs Packers Thursday night game recap

The highly anticipated NFC North game pitted the NFL’s longest rival teams head to head. The game started off as a defensive gem as both teams managed keep the other from gaining any significant yardage in the entire first quarter. Green Bay struck first however, with a momentum swinging fake punt returned for a touchdown by Tom Crabtree. The Bears never got going with Cutler...

Former Bears Captain Rips QB Jay Cutler's Behavior

One former prominent teammate of Jay Cutler has spoken out against the quarterback after the way he carried himself Thursday night in the Chicago Bears’ meltdown at Lambeau Field. Adewale Ogunleye, the retired defensive end who was a captain on the team with Cutler in 2009, said Cutler crossed the line when he bumped left tackle J’Marcus Webb coming off the field during the first...

Bears' corner fires shots at Cutler as they bench offensive guard.

When the word trickled in that the Bears had benched an offensive lineman I was positive that it was J’Marcus Webb. The thought process had really nothing to do with quarterback Jay Cutler cursing him out. Webb’s game was so bad last week against the Packers and in past situations that it seemed that former line coach and current offensive coordinator Mike Tice had had seen...

Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers: 5 Lessons Learned

“Good luck,” Jay Cutler said earlier this week, when referring to the ability of Green Bay’s defense to cover Chicago’s wide receivers. His buddy, wide receiver Brandon Marshall, also was heard chirping like a bird this week. When the final whistle blew, you felt good for Cutler, yet his Bears had just lost to the NFC North rival Green Bay Packers, 23-10. It was nice to know...

Bears jerseys worse than Jay Cutler’s performance

Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears laid a major turd sandwich last night against the Packers. Since I live in Chicago there is Bears stuff everywhere but because of the relative lack of star power on the team over the last ten years or so the jerseys that you see can be as disappointing as the offensive line. For someone like me who loves bad or expired jerseys this is a great thing...

Packers defense lays down the law

The Green Bay Packers rattled and robbed Jay Cutler and backup tight end Tom Crabtree scored on a fake field goal in the second quarter of a 23-10 victory over the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field on Thursday night. The Packers (1-1) intercepted four Cutler passes, including a pair by Tramon Williams. Facing a fierce pass rush all night, Cutler was sacked seven times, including 3...

Bears offense is horrible in loss to the Packers

This wasn't the way the 2012 Chicago Bears offense was to perform, it's not how most everyone envisioned this offense playing, ever again. Instead the Bears was god awful against the Packers from the first snap of the game all the way through.  Cutler was sacked on the first play of the game much like he was the week before.  From there things started to unravel at a...
