Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan and star quarterback Robert Griffin III were having some fun and on the sidelines in the team’s third preseason game on Monday Night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Griffin went down with an ACL tear at the end of last season and has been imploring his coach to let him see some action during the preseason. Despite his impressive rate of recovery, which has left the organization “astonished,” Shanahan has indicated that his star signal-caller—who is among the top young guns at the position—won’t take to the field until the Redskins’ regular season opener on Sept. 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles. But that didn’t stop Shanahan from pointing to the field and asking RGIII as he walked by whether he’d like to get into the game.
