For some misbegotten reason, the Denver Post is giving Jim Nantz an outlet to speak his mind later this week (“Hello, friends. You know what has supremacy? White people.”). While we’ll be sure to ignore it when it runs on Thursday, one of the paper’s blogs did the helpful service of highlighting an amusing anecdote so we can ignore the rest. Nantz recounts that in production meetings leading up to the Steelers-Broncos Wild Card game, Nantz asked John Fox and Mike Tomlin what they would do if the game went to overtime, what with the relatively new playoff overtime rules being in effect and all. On Saturday night we were meeting with the Steelers, who were staying near Boulder. I asked Coach Tomlin the same thing: What are you going to do? He said, ‘We’re taking the football. We’re not going to give them the football first.’ “I said, ‘Mike, wouldn’t you think twice about that? I mean after all, the Broncos’ last game they lost 7-3 to Kansas City. So if you kick the football to them, you

The Steelers know what they’re doing with Foster, Legursky, and Mundy.

Nobody is surprised that Mike Wallace received a first round offer from the Steelers. The fact that Doug Legursky, Ramon Foster, and Ryan Mundy received draft round offers though (along with Keenan Lewis & David Johnson) shouldn’t be a total shock either. It’s not a reflection on their importance to the team, but rather a business decision in the cut throat industry that...

2012 Steelers Roster Position Highlight: Tight End

By Christopher DiMarino The Pittsburgh Steelers are in a bit of a precarious situation regarding the tight end position. The 2012 season was big year for tight ends around the league. New records were set and the position saw heavy involvement in effective passing attacks. For the Steelers, it was a very average year for tight ends. The Steelers got a great player when they drafted...

ESPN’s Adam Schefter thinks Mike Wallace will remain a Steeler so lets talk contract

On NFL Live today ESPN analyst Adam Schefter made it seem like the Steelers were going to keep Mike Wallace for 2012.  He said no teams are going to make a move on Wallace “unless circumstances change.”  This is due to the free agent market for Wide Receivers.  The price for these guys has been ridiculous this offseason. Steelers Rewind – Looking Back At February & March 2000

By Christina Rivers "Whoever wishes to foresee the future must consult the past; for human events ever resemble those of preceding times. Niners signing of Moss may signal no desire for Wallace

Late last evening the San Francisco 49ers signed wide receiver Randy Moss to a one year deal. Why is this big news at site devoted to the Pittsburgh Steelers? By signing Moss, the 49ers are for all intents and purposes removing themselves as one...
