Found November 15, 2013 on Black and Gold Forever:
This could make or break your day depending on your opinion of the state of the 2013 Steelers--but it looks like Coach Tomlin is definitely going to return in 2014.'s Ian Rapoport broke the story this morning. It is not revealed who this "source" continues to be (the same source that leaked the Steelers were interested in trading Big Ben). Coach Tomlin is on pace for his first losing season for the Black and Gold. Every coach in this league goes through (and probably deserves) to go through a bad spell--and this is definitely what is going on. After an 8-8 year in 2012, this year is struggling to even meet that standard so far. Let's be clear. This does not mean that other coaching positions are safe. Certainly not. One in particular is probably going to be changed. I'll give you three guesses as to who it is. It starts with a "T" and rhymes with "Bodd Haley". The other issue is the defense, which has been inconsist...

Steelers GM is in Clemson tonight watching Tajh Boyd

Ian Rapoport of is reporting that the Pittsburgh Steelers general manager is present at the Georgia Tech/Clemson game. @RapSheet: Where is #Steelers GM Kevin Colbert tonight? Scouting Clemson-Georgia Tech, where Tajh Boyd is starring. He’s from Hampton, Va. like Tomlin Rapoport might be guessing on this one but Clemson has quite a bit of […]

Steelers Injury Report: Woodley Doubtful; Keisel And Foster Questionable

The Pittsburgh Steelers have now submitted their final injury report for the week as they prepare to take on the Detroit Lions Sunday at Heinz Field and it looks like they could possibly be without the services of at least two key starters. Not practicing for a third straight day were linebacker LaMarr Woodley (calf), defensive end Brett Keisel (foot) and guard Ramon Foster (ankle...

Mike Adams now playing tight end for the Steelers

Even though the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Mike Adams to play left tackle,  they’ve been using him as a tight end. Adams was benched as the Steelers left tackle back in week four when he gave up three sacks against Jared Allen.  Now he seems to be catching on at a new position. “I think that’s a testament to him and his mental toughness to overcome some negativity,...

Could Troy Polamalu and Ryan Clark both be out the outs in Pittsburgh?

Ian Rapoport from is reporting that both Ryan Clark and Troy Polamalu need to step up their games. If they don’t their stint in Pittsburgh could be about over. Some changes may be coming to Pittsburgh, especially to veterans like Troy Polamalu and Ryan Clark. They have to play very well to return

Ben Roethlisberger doesn’t want to be “killed” by Lions’ tandem at defense tackle

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is known for holding onto footballs too long and not giving up on plays. Nonetheless, he realizes that he can’t do that very often against the Lions’ Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley. Well, yeah, I mean, you’ve got to be careful,” Roethlisberger said. “You’ll end up dead if you’re not careful.” Need NFL Tickets? Loading...

Woodley, Keisel, Foster miss practice again

Three starters are expected to be out of the lineup when the Pittsburgh Steelers face the NFC North-leading Detroit Lions Sunday: linebacker LaMarr Woodley, defensive end Brett Keisel and guard Ramon Foster. They all missed Friday's practice, Foster with an ankle injury, Woodley with a calf problem and Keisel with a foot injury. None practices this week. On the injury report...

Steelers won't trade Big Ben in 2014 without a QB replacement

For all of this week's speculation surrounding Ben Roethlisberger's future, the key question remains: Is there fire behind all of this smoke with the Pittsburgh Steelers? After speaking with a Steelers source, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Friday's edition of NFL Network's "Around the League Live" that the organization will not consider an...

Woodley Doesn't Look Ready for Lions

LaMarr Woodley left the Buffalo game last week with a calf injury and missed practice all week. He recently said he was optimistic about a return this Sunday against his hometown team (LaMarr is from Saginaw, MI played ball at the University of Michigan). But he remains questionable. Not that LaMarr has been too amazing this season--which we can say about the entire defense...

Steelers Say They Won’t Be Bullied By Lions

The Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten so far away from their identity that they are now worried about another team bullying them on the field. The Steelers will the host the NFL’s version of the Detroit Bad Boys when the Lions roll into the town, and several Pittsburgh players have made it known that Suh and his boys “won’t be bullying” them anytime sooner. “We’re definitely...

Report: Ben Roethlisberger’s Next Contract Could Exceed $20 Million A Season

Big Ben expecting to join $20 million QB club

While talk of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger being traded or even requesting a trade is a bit premature at this point, a looming issue for him and the Pittsburgh Steelers is a contract extension that is likely to be discussed this offseason. A contract the 31-year-old Roethlisberger would expect to be north of $20 million per season, putting him in line with fellow quarterbacks...

Receiver Sanders: Steelers will not be bullied by Lions

Massive fines and penalties, an intimidation factor, a reputation for nastiness. Not surprisingly, they are becoming known — wrongly or not — as the NFL's dirtiest defense. A few years ago, it was the Steelers. Now it's the Lions. The Steelers (3-6) meet the league's new bullies Sunday, and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders said it's imperative they stand up to...

Pittsburgh Steelers: 2013 Week 11 NFL Power Rankings (#24)

Last week: 24 (+0) Record: 3-6 Dick LeBeau is now 19-2 against rookie quarterbacks in his career after befuddling EJ Manuel and the Bills last week, in a 23-10 loss that wasn’t even as close as that (Buffalo’s touchdown was in garbage time). Manuel completed 22 of 39 for 155 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception in the loss. The Steelers are only 2 games out of a wild card,...

Getting Scary

It's been one scary week for Steelers fans who don't want to hear about trading Ben Roethlisberger. Today, it's something else.

Steelers say They Won’t be Bullied by the Lions

Times have changed, huh? There haven’t been many times, in recent memory, where the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Detroit Lions have met this late in the season and the Lions were by far the better team. While Pittsburgh, is 3-6 and doing everything they can to salvage what is left of their season. So naturally […]
