PLAYERS: Tracy Porter
TEAMS: Oakland Raiders
This is my third annual final mock draft, and for the final outcome I will try and simulate the possible outcomes with trades going up and down by teams. You will see some picks that have not been on any of my other mock drafts after reading some late news from each organization. I have spent hundreds of hours looking at mock drafts, video of these players and listening to the experts on Fox Sports, ESPN, the NFL Network and other sites to come up with these selections, so hopefully this will be close to what happens. 1. Kansas City Chiefs (2-14): Projected selection - Luke Joeckel OT Texas A&M. The Chiefs will try and trade down, but they will not get the value they were looking for, so they grab the biggest need and best player. 2. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-14):  Projected Selection - Dion Jordan DE Oregon The Jaguars have several tough choices as they could go QB, with the uncertainty with current signal caller Blaine Gabbert, offensive tackle, defensive line or they ...

Raiders involved in several talks to move down in NFL Draft

Oakland Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie had said the team wasn’t actively shopping their no. 3 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. However, if a team dangles enough bait, even the stingiest have to give in. McKenzie has operated straight out of his mentor's mold, Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson on how to make sound financial moves over overpaying for big names. It seems...

Matt Flynn gets the start as Raiders offseason workouts begin

Matt Flynn is in the place he thought he'd be up in Seattle, under center and starting. At least for now, and likely the start of the season, the Oakland Raiders will begin offseason workouts with Flynn as their starter, GM Reggie McKenzie announced, via Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle. “Two things that I feel are important and that’s presence, as far as leadership...

Mayock: Raiders will draft Lane Johnson or Sharrif Floyd with the third pick

According to Rotoworld.com, Mike Mayock of the NFL Network believes the Oakland Raiders will draft either left tackle Lane Johnson or defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd with the third overall pick. NFL Network’s Mike Mayock predicted on Path to the Draft that the Raiders will either select Oklahoma LT Lane Johnson or Florida DT Sharrif Floyd at the No. 3 overall pick. Mayock is...

Will The Raiders Draft An Offensive Tackle With The Third Pick?

In an ideal situation the Raiders would trade down to get more picks in the upcoming draft. However, it is unlikely that the Raiders would get enough value to trade down. Most pundits have Reggie McKenzie taking Florida defensive tackle Sharif Floyd with the third pick but I think he would select either Texas A&M offensive tackle Luke Joeckel or Central Michigan offensive tackle...

The Root of Mediocrity: Position-by-Position breakdown of the Raiders best draft picks over the last decade.

The once proud Oakland Raiders have been the laughing stock of the league ever since they took a trouncing in Super Bowl XXXVII. Not only have the Raiders signed high priced flops like Javon Walker and Deangelo Hall but they have had horrendous draft classes. Part of the reason for their terrible draft classes is that they have traded first round picks for veterans Carson Palmer...

Raiders Draft Possibilities: Luke Joeckel and Eric Fisher

We continue our Raiders’ Draft Possibilities series with Luke Joeckel and Eric Fisher, who are widely considered the top two prospects at the offensive tackle position. The Oakland Raiders seem to be pretty happy with what they got in LT Jared Veldheer, but that might not stop them from drafting another OT with their first round pick, the third overall. [...]

Report: Raiders the most likely team to trade down

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, a lot of teams would like to trade down in the first round, but the team that will most likely make it happen is the Oakland Raiders. The most likely team to move back, I hear, is Oakland. TheRaiders have made no secret of their desire to slide back. And even if they really want Floyd — like everyone thinks they do — they still would...

Lions, Raiders could swap draft picks

Two teams with picks in the top five of Thursday's NFL Draft are rumored to be discussing a deal where they would swap positions.

The next Jim Plunkett? Why JaMarcus Russell deserves a second chance in the NFL.

As a Raiders fan it is hard for me to fathom seeing JaMarcus Russell in an NFL jersey but he deserves another shot in the NFL. I saw firsthand how incompetent and unmotivated JaMarcus Russell was as an NFL quarterback. I remember the holdout, the stopping of practice to find his earring, and the Tony Siragusa-like belly. One cannot even utter the name JaMarcus Russell to members...

Raiders Draft Possibilities: D.J. Hayden and Miguel Maysonet

We continue our Draft Possibilities series with two prospects who have been flying under the radar for different reasons, but who have seen their stock take an upswing as of late. The Oakland Raiders are still looking to add a talented, young cornerback despite the recent additions of free agents Tracy Porter and Mike Jenkins. Also, the Silver & Black [...]

The Taiwan Jones Experiment: Can Taiwan Jones Be An Effective Cornerback For The Oakland Raiders?

After running a 4.3 40-yard dash at his pro-day at Eastern Washington, no one was really surprised that Taiwan Jones would be wearing the silver and black jersey of his hometown Oakland Raiders. Al Davis craved speed and Jones looked like the perfect speed back to compliment running back Darren McFadden. However, over the next two years Jones did not see the field enough as a running...

Report: Raiders looking to move down to target CB D.J. Hayden

We reported yesterday that the Oakland Raiders are the most likely team to trade down in the first round of tonight’s NFL draft. According to ProFootballTalk.com, the Raiders are targeting Houston cornerback D.J. Hayden if they’re able to move down. Even though the Raiders signed Tracy Porter and Mike Jenkins this offseason, they need a good young corner to build their secondary...
