Earlier in the offseason, it was reported that the Buccaneers and wide receiver Mike WIlliams were working on a contract extension. That extension will now have to wait at least until after the draft.  According to Scott Reynolds of PewterReport.com, Williams’ agent told Reynolds that talks for a new contract will be on hold until after the draft. Englehard said he spoke with the Bucs yesterday and they agreed to table any contract talks until after the draft so that general manager Mark Dominik could give of those endeavors his full attention. Englehard was given assurances that contract discussions would pick up immediately after the draft. It is highly expected that both sides will agree on a long term deal. Reynolds also echoes that theory by pointing to the team’s salary cap figure, saying it will get done prior to training camp. Williams was drafted by the Bucs in the 4th round of the 2010 draft. In three seasons, he has recorded 2,731 yards off 193 receptions and has scored 23 touchdowns. In 2012, alongside Vincent Jackson, Williams caught 63 passes for 996 yards and nine touchdowns. The post Mike Williams, Bucs will talk contract after the draft appeared first on The Bay Cave.
