Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell and veteran tight end Heath Miller will have to wait at least one week before making their season debuts.
Bell and Miller are both inactive for Sunday's opener against Tennessee. Bell is dealing with a sprained right foot while Miller is recovering from offseason knee surgery.
Isaac Redman will start in place of Bell, while David Paulson will start in place of Miller. Rookie QB Landry Jones, CB Antwon Blake, OL Cody Wallace, DT Hebron Fangupo and LB Vince Williams are also inactive for Pittsburgh.
Tennessee rookie linebacker Zaviar Gooden is inactive while he deals with an ankle injury. WR Michael Preston, WR Justin Hunter, OL Brian Schwenke, OL Brian Stingily, DL Keyunta Dawson and DL Lavar Edwards are also inactive for the Titans.

La’Rod Stephens-Howling has torn his ACL.
The loss of Stephens-Howling, 26, will further weaken the Steelers running back spot which was already missing Le’Veon Bell.
More bad news for the Steelers: RB LaRod Stephens-Howling suffered a torn ACL today.

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu timed the snap perfect to sack Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker on Sunday. Via SBNation.com: The post Watch: Troy Polamalu perfectly times Titans snap count, sacks Jake Locker appeared first on Sports Glory.
The next time Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor decides to do an interview, I sure hope he leaves defensive rankings and stats out of it. Don't get me wrong, I like Taylor as both a player and an individual, but the primitive rankings narrative has run its course.
When the week one games are completed Monday night, there is a good chance the Steelers defense will be ranked...
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittaburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers have lost center Maurkice Pouncey to a torn ACL and MCL.
Pouncey is clearly done for the season.
The Steelers’ offense struggled after Pouncey was carted off. Ben Roethlisberger didn’t have much time to throw the football.

One of the huge surprises from Sunday’s action was the Steelers’ opening day loss at the hands of the Tennessee Titans. It was a very Steeler-esque game, but at the end of the day, it was the Titans that had the upper hand.
The Steelers’ defense actually did its part in the 16 to 9 loss. The Titans were unable to move the ball consistently, but they were able to do just...
The Pittsburgh Steelers kickoff their 2013 season Sunday against the Tennessee Titans and below are my fantasy football stat projections for the black and gold offensive players.
Feel free to add your own projections in the comments below.
Ben Roethlisberger - 32 attempts, 20 completions, 250 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception.
Roethlisberger should hit the 30,000 yard plateau...
Ben Roethlisberger didn’t do anything special. Roethlisberger threw for 191 yards, 1 touchdown, and an interception. Ben didn’t complete many passes that went of 10 yards or more. Not all of the Steelers’ passing problems were because of Roethlisberger. There was some questionable play-calling, and the Titans really locked down on the Steelers’ receivers.
The Pittsburgh Steelers open the 2013 regular season at home against the Tennessee Titans, looking to snap a streak of having lost their last two season openers. The Steelers have won their last 10 home openers, however, and this game is at Heinz Field, which bodes well for the outcome.
There were possibly a couple of surprises among the inactives before the game, with waiver pickups...
Adam Caplan reports that the Steelers have reached an agreement with former Titans C/G Fernando Velasco.
This comes just a day after Pittsburgh lost starting center Maurkice Pouncey for the season after he suffered a torn right ACL and MCL. Steelers G David DeCastro was actually responsible for the injury after he dove right into Pouncey’s knee.
Velasco, 28, was a surprising...
It’s opening Sunday in the NFL, and Troy Polamalu is back to his old tricks with this perfectly-timed blitz against the Titans. Watch Polamalu anticipate the snap and launch into the backfield to take down Jake Locker, who never had a chance.
GIF AFTER THE JUMP
One of Troy Polamalu’s specialties is his ability to perfectly time a snap count to interrupt a play. Oh boy, did Jake Locker ever learn that lesson. The Tennessee Titans had a first and 10 at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 25 in the third quarter on Sunday, but Polamalu erased that by coming from his safety […]

Every championship-caliber team needs to have certain players that they know they can count on to get the job done on a consistent basis, without whom those championship aspirations can disappear in a hurry.
The Pittsburgh Steelers may have lost a number of such players in recent years, players with multiple championship rings, and they are still waiting for the...
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell could be back by week four after suffering a foot injury during the preseason.
Also, rookie running back Le’Veon Bell is on track to return from his foot injury, trending toward the lower end of the team’s original 6-to-8 week projection for his absence.
Bell suffered the injury in a preseason...
