Von Miller and Kevin Vickerson are appealing fines they said they received from the NFL for hits on Carolina quarterback Cam Newton last weekend.
Miller's $21,000 fine was for a low hit, but Denver's star linebacker insists he was blocked into Newton and didn't come anywhere near his knees.
Vickerson's $15,000 fine was for a horse collar tackle that he insists was more of a swipe.
Miller said he had two fines overturned on appeal last year for hits on Mark Sanchez and he feels he has another strong case.
Vickerson said he hopes to at least have his fine reduced.

Sounds like Broncos‘ defensive end Elvis Dumervil will be a game-time decision this weekend.
“He was limited,” Coach John Fox told the team’s official website. “I think we’ll play it day to day and I’m sure we probably won’t have a final decision until about an hour and a half before kickoff.”
Meanwhile, cornerback Tracy Porter (illness) has been ruled out and...

Denver Broncos executive vice president of football operations John Elway told USA Today Sports that he’s uses everyone who doubts him as motivation to build a championship team.
“I’ve never wanted to disappoint anybody that’s entrusted a position on me, whether it was as a player, or the role I’m in now. That’s the challenge, and that’s what makes me tick – that...

Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller and defensive lineman Kevin Vickerson reportedly were fined a total of $36,000 for separate hits on Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton last Sunday. Miller was fined $21,000 hitting Newton low on a roughing-the-passer penalty, the Denver Post reported Thursday. Vickerson was fined $15,000 for his horse-collar penalty while sacking Newton...
Those unaware that Broncos cornerback Tracy Porter returned to the practice field Friday could guess that to be the case by his wide grin.
Porter participated on a limited basis and wont play Sunday in the home game against San Diego. But this was a big step. He has been designated inactive for the past four games and hasnt put on a uniform on game day since the Oct. 7 game...

The Denver Broncos have reinstated linebacker D. J. Williams. DJ Williams
Williams was on the reserve/suspended list. He returned to practice earlier this week after serving two suspensions.
He has been added to the Broncos 53-man roster. He is a game-time decision to be activated for today’s game...
Maybe passing a marijuana law was the right choice for Colorado, because these dudes out there need to mellow out. A self-proclaimed Denver Broncos fan, and triathlete, was recently arrested for allegedly threatening President Barack Hussein Obama. Police were informed by Mitchell Kenneth Kusick’s therapist. Like you could already expect, Kusick was upset with shooting [...]
The NFL Pro-Bowl is still scheduled to take place after this season the week before the Super Bowl, unless Roger Goodell has anything to do with cancelling the All-Star game that features absolutely no defense and points galore. One special thing about selecting Pro-Bowl players is that it is not strictly up to the fans, so these players are not just the most popular. They are also...
Another great divisional match up for football fans features an AFC West show down in San Diego, where the (4-5) Chargers welcome Peyton Manning and the division leading (6-3) Broncos to town. The first game was an instant classic, where the Broncos came from way behind at the half to steal one at home. Manning trailed 24-0, before scoring 35 unanswered points as they stunned the...
Week 11 is here. The San Diego Chargers will travel to Denver. Are the fantasy choices too easy?QuarterbacksPeyton Manning vs. Philip RiversIs this too easy? Rivers bad. Peyton good. Manning has reverted to his MVP form. He has made everyone better. For the season Manning has 21 touchdowns and six interceptions. He has a league-leading passer rating of 108. The Chargers' defense...
San Diego Chargers (4-5) at Denver Broncos (6-3)
In my Power Rankings this week I joked, “Why does it feel like the Chargers are going to lose to Denver, fall to 4-6, and then go on their annual late season run, finish 8-8 or 9-7, miss the playoffs barely, and save Norv Turner’s and AJ Smith’s jobs? Oh, that’s right, that happens every year.” Well, I’m not so sure that...
